i just love the huge clicking sound you hear going onto the lift on anaconda at pkd.

as many hate it, i think its awesome, and i also love that coaster.. as many don't..

its not a chain but i love ka's winch winding sound if your by it in the parking lot.

The Shockwave at SFOT. Very Weird sound. Heres a video, not by me just to show you the sound. Don't know these people eather.

The Legend at Arnold's Park is the only lift that has stood out to me as anything unique, not to mention it's a great coaster. You can't hear it too well but this is the best video I could find.

i always liked duel coaster lifts. having both of them echoing and stuff is pretty sweet

lightning racer stands out

I like Big Thunder at Disneyland, especially in the tunnel as it gets exceptionally loud there.

I like arrow rides, X and Viper both have the same distinct sound as you pull off the top of the lift. It starts to speed up, faster and faster, Clickity clackity! Its very unique.

Old wooden coaster always have a cool greasy clackety sound.

Speaking of loud coasters overall; The Chiller was awesome in terms of noise level, I think it added to the ride. It had more of a 'WOOOOOWWWWW' sound than Kingda Ka's deep rumble.

Oblivion @ Alton Towers, UK. that thing is LOUD and really quite un nerving, it really lets you know that the car is heavy and that the track it hollow.

suprisingly, as small as it is, iron dragon at CP has an extremly loud chain, not quite as loud as oblivion or shockwave, but still impressivly loud.

i like all wilding sounds from hydraulic launches i also like that distinct roar that top thrill and kingda ka make when they go at their high speed... maverick also has that roar sound... i like the noise the lsm's make during the launch

Oblivion makes a daunting sound.

Calaway Park's Vortex [while being a crappy ride] has a cool lift sound.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that one.

I know it doesnt really make any really cool sounds but Millenium Force's cable lift is to me the most enjoyable lift, and least annoying. My favorite part is when it increases its speed 2/3 of the way up the lift.
-It used to make a cool sliding noise when it first opened but it no longer does. [V]

Best sound is definitely any Arrow's lift.

A couple of people have said Oblivion, but here's a video, just ignore the talking.

I personally love the feel (and sound) of that coaster. ESPECIALLY THE CORKSCREWS!!!!!!




Also I love the sound of volcano's launch at Kings Dominion.




Also Hypersonic's. (thank god that guy didn't keep his hands up!)
