Don't You think B&M should create more stand up coasters? Its not like they're bad rides, i just think they should have more of them than the ones now. They shouldn't make any clones of the ones now, they should just make a better design than the ones now.

Tell me what you think.[:)]

I do not like stand up coasters... I personally think they are tame rides.

I doubt we will see any new stand up coasters from B&M. Right now, a floorless coaster is much more desirable.

Definitely... But only if it's a real B&M Dive Machine, not a fake floorless without any fun parts...

Unfortunately it's not in our hands to decide what designers put out there, but I have to say absolutely not. Generally, they aren't very exciting coasters, can't really provide serious exertion of forces, and standing up on a roller coaster isn't something, in my eyes, that's really "cool". Basically they're lose-lose-lose situations.

B&M is doing great without Stand-Ups. The inverts provide simply amazing experiences (Montu, Raptor,), the Floorless/Twisted are just as cool (Kumba shuts out almost any ride), the Divers are fun things, and From what I hear they also do a pretty darn good job on Flyers.

My statement is forget about a lame idea that delivers no ecstasy and focus on something you have been doing great on and will only get better at. Period. Drop Stand-Ups, get more Flyers and Floorless and Inverts out there. [:)]

Obviously someone who has never been on the Riddler's Revenge. lol[:p].

[rant]YES!!! Get more out there! They are great rides, and the world could use more of them. Forget all this crap about them being forceless. Try riding Iron Wolf, then come talk to me about forces.

B&M needs to build more standups. They are exciting, unusual, and fun. No More Floorless coasters! They have become cliche very quickly. B&M should build more standups, flyers, and Nitro-like hypers.

The Riddler's Revenge is one of the all time great B&Ms. I don't see how anyone would choose a floorless over a standup![/rant]

Riddler's Revenge is better than any floorless coaster I've ever ridden, but Mantis isn't nearly as good as any floorless. As long as they keep making good, non-migrane inducing stand ups, that'd be great to see some more.

First of all, I was just making a statement and Im not deciding what type of ride they are going to build! If I was then I WILL call them up and say "hey your next ride should be a stand up coaster, not a flyer, diver, or inverted." I was just making a statement B/c there hasn't been a new stand up since 1999. And just because you dont like stand ups doesn't mean they shouldn't build one, maybe someone else likes them. I just felt that having a "good/exciting" stand-up coaster in a park wouldn't be such a bad idea. Im not talking about a stand up lIke Iron WOlf, Vortex, or Georgia Scorcher,..im talking about a better version of Riddlers Revenge or Mantis. So your little statement doesn't really matter to me.

Next time you open a thread asking peoples opinion...
Don't You think B&M should create more stand up coasters?

...be ready for both sides of the case, mk? Don't jump on the first person that disagrees with you. Not the way to run a thread, man.

Hey it's no problem man, don't worry about it.

I need to get on Riddler's Revenge. Does it actually have forces though, because Mantis is supposed to be a "good stand-up" and I didn't feel the love on it...

Mantis...I never ride it, even if there's a walk on. Riddler's does have forces, and it's SMOOOOOOTHH...Great ride, I'm still debating if it's better than Raptor.

Mantis is a decaying example of a stand-up coaster.

I personally think they should just build more of whatever, their product is top notch.

They should build more stand-ups, they are excellent rides. The problem is, parks don't buy them.

I think they sould build some more. But with a variaty of elements. I think that B&M should build more floorless, stand-ups, inverts, and hypers. Oh yea, I'd say they shouldn't go crazy with flyers. I loved Tatsu, but I think the others are great.

The problem is that the standups really can't be built because the market is oversaturated. All of the large parks that need to building something "unique" already have one. The only really super large park that doesn't have one I can think of is Six Flags over Texas. Market oversaturation is the problem.

I faintly remember B&M patenting a new standup train design a couple years back. Can anyone confirm this?

I think that when a park is looking to invest in some new capitol and they start looking at what B&M has to offer these days, the last thing they consider is a Stand-Up.

It's not something that's cutting edge anymore, it's a little harder to sell. Also, the vast majority of Stand-Ups aren?????????t comfortable rides. I always think it's very ironic that B&M, a company known for making smooth rides, made Iron Wolf first. It took me a long time to finally figure out the comfortable way to ride that thing, and the general public isn't that patient. When I went to Cedar Point, Mantis was one of the things that I rode once and moved on from. There were so many better and more comfortable things to do. The only Stand-Ups that I really hear people talk about are Chang and Riddler?????????s Revenge.

If I had a theme park, and I was looking to add my first B&M, I?????????d probably go with an Inverted Looper first. People love those, they?????????re fun to ride, and if you can't pony up the cash for you own custom job then just get a Batman Clone. If I had a lot of cash on hand, and I had the land for it, I?????????d want to get a Hyper, you really can't go wrong with a Hyper (Behemoth still pending). If those didn't do the trick, I?????????d look at either Dive Machines or Twisted Steel. Both of those now have the option to install the crowd pleasing floorless trains. Heck, some people probably wait in line just to see and hear the floor drop and fold away. That leaves us with Flying Coasters and Stand-Ups. If I was a theme park, and left with the choice of marketing a Superman Clone or a custom Stand-Up, I?????????d probably go with the Superman Clone. People would rather have the flying sensation than the standing sensation, they get the standing sensation all day walking around the park.

That?????????s what it comes down to. B&M has so much to offer, and so much of it is really easy to sell . . . except for the crotch crunching, slow loading, Stand-Ups. These days you?????????d probably only install a new stand up if you already had an Invert, a Dive Machine, a Flyer and a Sit Down. No one has that line up. Most people are missing something else that's easier to sell. Stand-Ups used to be innovative, now they are just the butt of Male Birth Control jokes. Times change.
