Well, lurking on Facebook the othernight, after being at cedar point, I was linked to this page, of course it was posted several days ago.

This is what it says

Want to be in an upcoming Travel Channel special? We'll be taping on Friday, October 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, October 10 from 7:30 to 11:15 a.m.; and Sunday, October 11 from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

We're looking for 150 riders EACH DAY to fill seats on select rides.

This is your chance to ride some of our thrill rides over and over again - AND be in a TV special! Please note: with video shoots of this nature, there may be prolonged periods of time when you are NOT riding and are seated in a ride vehicle. Please be prepared for this.

DRESS CODE: Please wear casual, summer clothes with NO logos, graphics or sports team themes.

ATTITUDE: Riders must be enthusiastic each time they ride and follow all safety rules and procedures for each ride.

ADMISSION: Admission to Cedar Point is NOT included - participation is strictly voluntary. The park is closed during the video taping and riders will be allowed inside. Once taping is complete, riders will be escorted outside the gates prior to park opening.

FOOD: Please be prepared to bring your own food/drink to the taping - food will not be provided.

Registering does not guarantee that you'll be selected! Those who have been chosen will be contacted via email.

Update: We're sorry, but the event is full.

Just wondering if anyone wanted to know, or if anyone can give me a date on when this will be aired, as Im geared to watch it.

Yes, I was actually at the park for this. Look for me on Maverick and MF.

No, I wasn't officially registered, but on Saturday and Sunday they were filming the station of Maverick and the final brake run/queue of MF.

Well at Disneyland they have a big sign at the entrance saying "We will be filming something today, if you do not wish to appear in the filming please stay out of the following area today at around x:xx am/pm: xxxxxxxxxxx"

I'm sure they probably do the same thing at CF parks and SFs

Actually, as I already mentioned I was there this weekend. There actually was a disclaimer that was similar to the one posted in the quotation.

Man, you guys are lucky. If I'm going to work at an amusement park, it's SFSL. That won't be at LEAST until 2011 though, so hopefully things will change.

I might come back next year for a third year at Maverick, but I'm also considering going back to Universal for another year at Revenge of the Mummy.
So we will see how things go and how I feel closer to the start of the 2010 season.

Generally editing and programming will take quite a bit of time. I would say that CP would want this released sometime before the parks open, so my guess would be anytime between now and this coming April-May.

Disney has to be some kind of Monopoly. This can't be legal.

WHAT!

Gah! And I liked the travel channel. Neh, so lame!

But on another note, I would just like a set date to plan for, lol

I know it takes time to edit, audio cover, and the etc....
but that still doesn't mean that it will take them half a year!

Actually, Discovery Communications owned the travel channel up until 2008, when it was sold to Cox Communications. Cox then dropped the "Channel" from the name. Discovery still distributes the channel and most of it's programming. Disney pays to have "hour long commercials" run on the channel during certain times of the year to boost attendance.
