Excuse me while I go on a rage for a minute..

The USPS is a damn joke.

Last Tuesday my girlfriend payed over $19 to mail me some very sensitive documents (passport, id's, some forms etc) that absolutely had to be here by tomorrow afternoon.

My girlfriend was told that the package should arrive in my mailbox in no more than 3 or 4 days! NO MENTION OF ANY DELAYED MAIL BECAUSE OF HOLIDAYS!

Well, it is now Wednesday, more than a week later and the mail has already been delivered today. Of course my stuff is no where to be found.

So, my girlfriend just went to the post office and was told that because of increased mail traffic that it will not arrive at my house until next week!@#!!@$#! THE HELL!@#!#!!! They also will not give a refund, no compensation, no discount, not even a single damn stamp to my girlfriend.

I for one think this is ridiculous. Why the hell are they charging standard rates for sub par service? Why the hell would a business tell you that something can be done on time, when they obviously knew it couldn't be done??

We paid for express shipping for a reason!

So now I am screwed out of what I had to do this Friday. [:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]

[/raging rant]

Nah, not my test. They actually screwed over my daughter more than me.

The thing that pisses me off the most, is that they told us that it could be delivered and so we paid for a service we didn't receive. And of course because it is the government, they won't offer a refund or anything at all. YAY for stepping all over your own peoples.

My girlfriend should have just slapped 4 stamps on the envelope and it would have arrived here in the same amount of time.

I shipped 2 packages on October 25th, one with $1o worth of items and one worth $300 worth of items to the same address. Well the $10 got there the next day and the $300 one is still labeled as processed in the industry plant but not delivered [:(] I bought insurance but overlooked the fact that it only was labeled to b worth $135 and I can't claim insurance until the full month has passed and then i fill out paper work and they investigate and I get a refund plus insurance purchase maybe 6 months later [:(]

No one did. Why, though, do you tell us someone that's supposed to do something that you wanted them to do didn't do it? It's the scenario that EVERYONE must deal with on a day to day basis as humans...It's not as though this type of thing is a surprise.

I don't think it's necessary to post an event that majorly pisses one off. There would be 1,000 new threads a day.

There is a reason that FEDEX and UPS opened their doors for business. Next time, let the experts get it to you - with half the cost and double the insurance.

Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

Every year, near the holidays, the local news announces what the deadine is 4 all the different classes of mail in order for things to be delivered by the holidays and warns of the increased holiday traffic. I don't think this is enough. The USPS should send out a mailer to forewarn of the delays since, not every one watches the news or reads the papaer and obviously the employees at the post office don't inform you.

I don't quite understand your first question, but anyways. Thousands of threads like these (or at all..) aren't created everyday, so what is wrong with this one? Besides, look at the discussion this is creating.

Yep, we have already discussed this actually. [lol] We have decided opun UPS to handle all of our future deliveries. Never had a problem with them before.

Yeah, the least they could have done was to at least warn us about how the delivery might be delayed.

UPS charges and arm and a leg for me. For the same 3 ounze package I sent out USPS charged me $1.65 with delivery confirmation while UPS wanted like $8+ for the same thing. I've had a few things that were to be delivered to me from UPS and they have been lost in transit as well.
