I joined this site in feb, i think
I joined the NLT - that fell thru - no need to say anymore about that

I joined the Gravity group contest
"1 rating is done, but the bad news is, today i will be riding Troy all day long (again) and monday, i'm going on vacation for a week. So you'll have to be a little patient"

then the Scream City contest, holy crap
"Austin said that before asking all his judges I personally have been pounded into the ground with midterm studying lately, but I will do my best to judge them thoroughly and speedy...as soon as I get them."

"Austin you're starting to piss me off. Has blackhand even gotten the tracks yet? THERE WERE ONLY SIX WHAT IS TAKING YOU SO LONG!"

"I absolutely adore how Austin is trying to blame this all on ME when he has had my judgements, as well as blackhand's, for WEEKS now and he still fails to post them.

If Austin can't get the rates up this weekend, I'm going to post my judgements and put a stop to this. This is ridiculous..."

"i feel awful everyone, its the end of the quarter at school, i had 5 projects due today and 2 tommorow, i've been gone driving around the northeast states this whole weekend. im kinda pissed too, i feel bad, and im seriously sorry, im in the middle of a ton of problems at home, and im in the midst of buying a car, ill try to finsish them tonight when i take a break from working on my projects."

then the "put me on the map" contest - which i am not mad at but im using this as an example
" Sorry I just got back from vacation yesturday. I downloaded the tracks into a folder and I will be rating soon."

WITH THOSE BEING SAID...
I have a lot of respect for yall that take time out of your lives to judge out rides. I, also, realize that there are more things going on than roller coaster contests.

In 2 of those contests, the judge set the due date and then shortly after the due date WENT ON VACATION! Do not, i repeat, Do not go on vacation after the due date and before the submission of winners. Tell those in the contest "hey, im going on vacation so ill be back on _____,__,2008 so i cant answer questions during that time but ill start judging when i get back as opposed to making yall wait 2 weeks THEN ill judge em."

School sux, i know. im in my 18th year of it. It does not take 1.5 months to do projects. If you are in school and in classes that make you do projects, maybe you shouldn't be a host for a tourney. I appreciate your trying but dont make the people suffer

I just wanted to say this for all of you that would like to host a tourney in the future. Please, think about your due dates before you make them. Please think about what you have going on with work/school/vacations before you post a contest.

Well, that is a mistake on my end on letting normal folk hold officia contest and it was my fault to let an inexperienced staffer in contest try and manage the NLT. Don't worry, next year's NLT's is already rolled up and ready to go. We're prepare for it and hopefully nothing goes wrong.

coreyml, as long as i don't get paid to host contest i go on vacation whenever i like, wws.com is a 'hobby' of me, and in the case of my contest, there were more important things than rating contest tracks. They take time. So be a little patient, we all have our lives.

Although, i must say that some of the contests here are hosted poorly, not only when it comes to rating

I admit it can be frustrating when stuff like this goes slower than we'd all like it to, but you must be able to find something better to do than sit around waiting for NL contest results.
