uhm i'm not sure if i wanna call this a glitch or not, but i cant beleive my eyes when i see it... i just made a zero g roll on an x car, and its fairly slow, 18 mph i think? and its perfectly ahg'd. there are barely any lats in the rest of the ride, but on the zero g roll, when slowed down to 25% speed, the g forces jump around at a rediculous unbeleivable rate... i see -.2 -.4 then randomly a quick flash of 4.7??? and then back down to -.2 and then back up to a 5.0 something er another? can this really be happening? i've never seen it before. when i switch the coaster to an intamin, this doesnt occur.

i believe man also had this problem. I wouldn't too much about it. Everone with a little sense can tell that such a spike isn't realistic. I suggest you mail Ole about the stuff and wait for the patch

it's just because of the new G calculations on the update, which measures instantaneous g's rather than average g's.

No, like cjd said... They're instant g's not average.

i've got the same thing with my new Intamin I'm building for a competition, i just had a couple of g's out of check on the 1.6 patch, saw the 1.7 patch said YES! DOWNLOAD! went on the simulation and the gs were jumping every where, my gs went from about 0.7 to 11.8! and because it jumps so quickly from one g to another i can't accurately see what gs i'm doing so i don't know whether i'm doing 2 gs or 4. its really annoying, can somebody help?

i dont think its really a big deal, but i would still like to know what my g's really are... what i've been doing is just watching it in normal 100% speed, and trying to find which g occurs the most, and forgetting about the spikes...so in my zero g roll, even tho there are random spikes of like 5.0 and 1.7 and stuff, it all averages out to be about .6 lats...so i just go with that.

Yea I noticed this also I think we may have to change how we rate our tracks because it's impossible for a perfect track. Therefore, a big change will need to be made.

ya indeed, cuz i dont wanna end up with a 6.5 cuz my zero g roll pulls 5.0 for a split second lol. i think we should all become slightly more lenient on g force notations.

No horrible lats, though the 0.4 is a tad high for my liking. :(

I reckon the high Gs on your ride are the result of your roll being nothing near 0 vertical Gs.

It starts at -1.6? Plus it's on a circular curve which will never result in a constant 0 Gs. It has to be 0 or decently close to it for the entire roll.

No lie? Hm, according to blackhand1001 a zero-g roll is just the name of an element, whether it pulls 0 gs or not...
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

I think those spikes come from actual bumps in the track or other signs of bad BT.

I checked for spikes on my coasters and found none.
Here's a video of a coaster I'm currently working on:

No spikes at all (+-0.1 at most). All forces nailed to a fixed number.

Buster.

huh... well maybe i'm blind or just plain stupid, but my zero g isn't exactly jerky, and the acctualy "roll" part is pretty smooth imo. and as far as i can tell, this is only occuring on my x car... when i switch the track to an intamin or a floorless(same heartline as x car) the lats dont occur...the intamin only hit .9 max, and the floorless only hit 1.2 max...no sudden jerks of 5.0 or anything...

Hey Buster,

Are you really going to use the name `Ogopogo?????????? Because that's not really original to be honost [:p]

Check this: http://www.weeweeslap.com/track_exchange/detail.asp?tid=13281

No offence if you use the name though. [:)]

The new g force calculations don't cause any random spikes, but they are a lot more sensitive to poor BT, as Buster said. I was looking over my latest ride and saw no abnormal spikes, though the places where I had used some rougher transitions on purpose saw a slight increase in laterals for a brief moment on parts of the train. There was also were -1.2 and 3.8 verticals that the 1.6 version didn't pick up on but I suspected were there. Now, I haven't built anything with an X-car yet, so you might be on to something if it's spiking heavily...

I like the new g force calculations; it will allow me to be pickier in the future!

They're from bumps. Get over it.

Honestly you guys need to think more.

A horizontal loop is a loop that happens to be horizontal. Same applies to a vertical loop. It's a loop ... and it's vertical. Imagine that! A corkscrew looks like the corkscrew you use to open a bottle of wine. A Zero G Roll is a roll with zero G's in it, it's not a difficult concept to understand. What is so difficult about this information to ya'll?
