A few semesters ago we were supposed to make a full marketing plan for an item. Mine was the Hot Diggity Dogger and I used the Jetsons in my advertisements. When it was presented the teacher told me that cartoon characters would never be taken seriously in real life items. Well time has passed and more and more ads involving cartoon characters are being incorporated into such real life products and services. I got a C on the project for the unlikely to occur factor despite such ads have been used before. So, with lot more such ads around, I could challenge this grade now with evidence of such use and could boost my final grade of a B to an A. You think I should do that? I was right dammit! [lol]

I think you should try, especially since you said much of the reduction in your grade was because the teacher didn't expect these kind of ads to work out. Send him/her an e-mail, can't hurt anything.

lysol, esurance, geico, that one company who uses tabs in the dishwasher uses jetsons, ebay, toyota, michelin, etc. I could go on and on. Many use cartoon characters to get their ad across and based on market statistics it has been a very effective tool as it taps into the subconcious part of the consumers brain. Well I would go into detail of that but I would just bore you [:D] [lol]
I might conduct a current market study for a project I am on right now and will use it sidely to make an analysis of sorts. Well I am thinking out loud now so I'll go back to my evil plot to take over the world [:)]
