... Or should I say new, old trains. The Roller Coaster will be receiving excess trains off the Big Dipper for the 2008 season. The remaining cars off the Dipper have already being moved onto the tracks and have been rattling their way around. They have received a new lick of red paint and we say goodbye to the old seatbelts on the previous cars. For images you'll have to visit the Blackpool Pleaure Beach Guide forums where there are regular updates.

So what are peoples thoughts on this, as there are many who seemed amazed by the restraintless cars of before...

My opinion...gay! The only reason you go on Rollercoaster is because it has no restraints. Now it will just become a pointless ride waiting to be torn down

^That's a little harsh . Apparently Roller Coasters old trains are fairly light and so Dippers new heavier trains might make the ride quite a bit more lively. I don't just ride Roller Coaster for the lack of restraints, and you probably won't even notice the lap bars are there now.

Are the restraints on the new trains true lap bars or just buzz bars?

there buzz bars, the old trains will be used though either as some themeing or in one of the resteraunts. either way i dont think it will make much diffrence to the ride

ahh, i love that ride! when i first got on it and went to lock myself in and was amazed at the seat belt! Shame. Though it is and incredibly tame ride, so heavier trains are awsome. The lap bar wont do anything.

The old trains are now nowhere in sight and the new pannels for the Dipper trains look quite good

They put seatbelts on Rollercoaster ages before they swapped the trains.
At the beginning of last season they were there.
Didnt stop me, or any of the many Chavs in Blackpool to take it off again though[lol].

Their bars that don't make that clicking sound when they go down. They are locked by electrics under the track in the station. When they lock and unlock it makes a buzzing sound.
