Good luck with the tourny everyone. Excited to see all the great tracks produced throughout, and a little bummed I didnt sign myself up.

Not a bad track mini, considering the time.

To be honest, i have a feeling that most people will not produce there best work because they know there are enough n00bs in this contest for them to get into round 2.

In fact i dont think you will even get 32 tracks. You know, you should just stick with 16 for the next round.

But what happens if you only get 20 tracks from these 34 people this round?

You can't exactly let 32 through.

if i only get 20 tracks, which i doubt, i'll continue with 16 players and so on, the final round will be with 2 participants

Let's not go changing the rules mid-stream...

I posted my track already because I'm likely going to be selling my house, buying another house, and moving. I didn't want to still be building during all of that.

This was based on the idea that only two people would be eliminated from this round. The track isn't fantastic, but it's good enough (IMHO) to make the 32 cut. I've already posted the track, so if it should suddenly become a round where only 16 go forward, then that screws me sideways. Just sayin'.

^Nevertheless, my point is still valid, whether you are moving house or not.

Yeah, I kinda see this getting messeed up. If there are 32 tracks submitted, there will definately be DQ's that will get it under 32. I think it's probably best to cut it down to 16 next round.

And MY point is still valid. The track was turned in while the rules were one way. To change the rules AFTER tracks have been submitted is entirely unfair to those people who have already submitted.

Yeah, Minicoop's right. That would rip him off bad, because I know a few others, including myself, aren't trying all that much because we know it's almost a gaurantee into the next round should you at least abide by the rules.

Making it a 16 the next round will screw some of us over big time, so I say we just have all valid track designers proceed to Round 2, and continue with 16 to Round 3...

Of course, that makes sense. If the "top 32 tracks" move to the next round, and you get to the last track before you've gotten 32, then DUH, all the tracks are in the top "32".

Just like asking someone what his "top 10 coasters" are and he's only been on eight. All eight would be in his top 10.

I think the main thing to remember, though, is that this is hyyyper's call. He's already said that the templates are done and that he is prepared for all the rounds as originally planned.

Q: Because the low no. of sign-ups will you take out one round? Or will this round only kick out two participants.
A: No, basically all the templates are done, and i'm sure you'll all gonna like them. Besides, the more the merrier, right?

At this point it's very uncertain what's going to happen. Because of the match-up part of the tournament requires a power of 2, (2,4,8,16,32) it all depens on the no. of tracks that are submitted

Well, I agree with Gerst, I'd be unfair if we change rules! I myself also have the layout done, I think it will make it to the second round, if 32 tracks will proceede, but if it's only 16, I'm heavily screwed...

Stick to the rules!

idea

lets say 27 submit
you drop the worst to make it an even number
13 pairs - 13 winners advance and in your best judgement, choose the top 3 losers to advance and then go on from there like planned

Trackwork done, im making sure the lats are in the limits but its wierd making a coaster that isnt supposed to have 0 lats the whole time, i just feel wrong underbanking stuff.

It works with a duel load system. While one is up, the other is down. And they move at the same time up and down [:)] So yeah, it's like the system the matterhorn blits in Europa Park has [;)]
