So if the cars leave the MCBR in a normal no e-stop case with a speed of 20 km/h, you can set the speed of the friction wheels at that MCBR to 20 km/h or lower?

no. Cuz if you estop it comes to a speed of 0 and starting up again means it will launch the car up to 20km/h see?

Just raise it a tiny bit on one end, it's not like it's gonna wreck your whole ride.

i just read through the entire topic, and im now thururly confused

are we allowed friction wheels on brake blocks behind the station (ie, whilst cars wait in case there is a car in the station, or does it need to be slanted?

but, thats not fair? its not our fault if the rides accendelty trip e-stop, if nessasary wheels need to be provided to speed up the car so it doesnt valley

You can have friction wheels to take the car from the final brakes to the station

That is a yes I guess

and also:
if you like to build a station out of 3ds or supports, that's fine as long as it's being used as a ramp or something.

you mean 'as long as it's not being used as, right?

I highly recommend to save yourself from beatings in real life NOT to answer questions for authorities when the question is being asked to authorities.

Rider safety is your responsibility and proper estop = safety.

As long as the friction tires do not accelerate the cars they are fine. If the speed of the tires is higher than the exit speed of the car when it exit the mcbr, it will be considered a launch and the track will be DQ'd.

So, when the friction wheels are used for accelerating the car in case of an e.stop, the track is DQed?

This does NOT make any sense. If you allow us to use kicker wheels that don't make change during normal course running (non e-stop) and then WWS says we can't have them active for E-Stop either?

WTF is going on. When can we use kicker wheels, hyyyper?

Let's go to grade school. You come to a stop, your speed = 0
You start, but you have an aid like a booster which raises your speed to ___.
Did the booster change the normal course of starting up from estop.
Yes it did.

Using them for post E-Stop pushes isn't allowed, but using them for speeding up during a normal course run isn't allowed either?

Hyyyper says we can use them, but there is no longer any use for them when you take away their two uses. You can't slow down either, because that would also cause the train to go faster after E-Stop.

You allow kick wheels, yet forbid them to be used...

Image

hyyyper didnt say for our mcbrs to not have a TRANSPORT DEVICE, he said no LAUNCHES.

The picture shows that a launch is a transport device
but
A TRANSPORT DEVICE IS NOT A LAUNCH

that is not "launch"

Nobody has answered your question, even though you've asked it twice now. It affects me as well, since I've already handed mine in.

Hyyyper says that wheels can be used as long as they aren't faster than the train would've exited the MCBR. Then WWS says they can't be used at all, since an e-stop would mean that the car would be at 0mph and therefore any wheels would be a "launch" (which is BS, by the way, unless you've checked the "launch" tickbox on the segment control window).

I figured that with hyyyper running this show, we wouldn't get the debacle of rule changes and such after the contest started, but I guess I was wrong.

...but we still need to know:

The tracks that have already been handed in before the rule changes... are we allowed to "fix" them and resubmit, or do they get judged under the rules that were in place before they were changed?

In all the other contests I've seen, once you posted to the exchange, that was your final version. If that's true here, then the whole contest is skewed. Two tracks would automatically get DQd under no fault of their own.

minicoopertx, before I stepped in, the debacle of rule changes had started, there was already a rule changed. I just showed up to help him with this latest dilema. If I don't step in we would end up with 10 more rule changes to make the track easier which is what a tournament should be. Nevertheless I sense I am not wanted here so I'll let hyyyper post the rest of the stuff he forgot to post and mind my help him and no longer the contestants. All questions will now be answered by hyyyper so wait for him to come around.

This is dumb, don't use wheels and just barely slant your MCBR...If that's what everyone is argueing about?

Anyway, I'm done my trackwork! Yayyy...Starting to support today, for once it's a contest that actually went very smoothly for me!

it isnt hard
but
some of us made our spinners w/ the same MCBRs as real spinners.
if the ride stops on the mcbr, that LOSES the 5 - 10 mph worth of energy the car/train had ending up in redoing the ride that ive worked 4 days on.

I expect to not use wheels on woodie mcbrs but spinners have em.
if you have nothing to defend then shut up

Um, YEAH. The point is that there have already been tracks submitted that used wheels and now we're being told that they would be DQd for using wheels.

That's the argument. Pay attention.

I had a post a page back with several links to Gerstlauer and Maurer Sohne spinners which have no tires and a slanted MCBR. Good day sir.
