psyclone was a wonderful, magic mountain worthy , ride when it opened. the earthquake messed it up pretty bad, and batman was coming.. or there. so they just trimmed it and let it die of natural causes..
there is something inside me that hopes magic mountain will put those trains on collossus even though they kinda suck.. they're better than generic morgans

I saw a back row pov of Flashback at one point... it looked absolutely ridiculous. I'd definately brave some headbanging and the horrible trains for those crazy drops. It seems all the riders were enjoying themselves too.

Here's a few, all from SFGAdv:
-Chiller definately.

Now here's three rides I wish they never got rid of:
-Stuntmans Freefall (a first gen freefall tower)
-Spinmeister (a Schwarzkopf made Enterprise)
-This wasn't demolished but moved; Evolution. It was one of those giant Nauta Bussink Evolutions. They never ran it much but it was definately a site to see when it was operating.

Drachen Fire even though it banged your head like crazy--it was still a fun coaster

I agree to those two... They must've been soooo great from what I've read, as well as the Shooting Star which is still being praised by Alfred (Trackwalker). It's so sad that younger enthusiasts never got the chance to ride so many historical woodies.

I pity the loss of cop car chase, too. It was a great ride, I should've ridden it more the only time I was there. [V]

Thank you Pad for mentioning the Shooting Star. I was just about to do that. Let me quote what's on the back of Coney's Shooting Star post card:
"The nation's finest roller coaster -- higher, smoother, faster than any you will ever ride. 96 feet high -- 2700 feet long, dimensions which provide the greatest thrills in the Park."

Herbert Schmeck of PTC designed the Shooting Star and the track throughout the whole ride was 18 inches thick (9 layers of rough cut 2 inch thick lumber). This ride was so smooth you could drink a cup of Coke going down the first drop and not spill a drop. It was like driving down the road in your automobile. I know most of you WeeWee Slappers like rough as in "wild" coasters and I do to. But the smoothness of this ride combined with the floating negative G over the second hill made you feel like you were flying like a bird. As a matter of fact, coming off that frist drop and up that second hill felt like you were shot out of a cannon. And the final enclosed tunneled curve with its small tight radius had the same effect and force as the upper helix on The Beast at Kings Island (I RODE BOTH AND I KNOW). In fact, the Shooting Star's circular enclosed turn was the inspiration for The Beast's helix. There was never a coaster then or now as smooth as the Shooting Star. That's a shame!

trust me, you're not missing anything with the black hole- X:/no way out at Thorpe is better than that, and X n.w.o is pretty... 'bad'.

Are you joking? X:No Way OUt is a pile of crap. And Blackhole was one of the best rides at alton towers.

Number one would have to be Bullet at Flamingo Land (My once favourite ride) and Black Hole at Alton Towers.

The coasters I wish were still running are:
Big Dipper @ Geauga Lake
Raging Wolf Bobs @ Geauga Lake
Villian @ Geauga Lake
Blue Streak @ Conneaut Lake Park (after the recent ballroom fire, there's no telling when or if this park will re open)
Crystal Beach Cyclone
The Bat @ Kings Island

I'm with you there.

I also miss Joker's Revenge from Six Flags Fiesta Texas, which was relocated to New Orleans, and I believe is now SBNO.

The others I miss weren't demolished or SBNO, just relocated. Simple rides, really, but I loved them for nostalgic reasons:

White Lightnin' from Paramount's Carowinds (relocated to a park in South Africa)
Corkscrew from Myrtle Beach Pavilion (relocated to a park in Colombia, South America)

Well, come to think of it -- they've shut down the Myrtle Beach Pavilion now, so I could add Hurricane to the list as well.

I wish they left the original Mighty Canadian Minebuster was it was, instead of modifying everything and taking away all the kick ass air that it had.

I agree with you on that Adam, its cool but doesn't have enough air, or its too rough.
