Dude jake sorry to hear that. That is no good at all. Big bummer about missing baseball.

Ive noticed that whenever a track is submitted for a contest, it always gets much higher ratings than it would if it were just submitted as a personal project. I remember last year my Monochromagic got super high ratings along with other rides posted for the contest, and Im not sure any one of them deserved above a nine. Not saying that the tracks that have been posted arent good, just putting out something that ive noticed.

^I was thinking the same thing last week, and I would agree with that. It might have something to do with the fact that everyone is working with the same template, so original/interesting ideas really stick out while common errors are ignored.

Hopefully we'll see a lot more entries in the next couple of days!

I could fix that for you. [;)] nah, jk.

Except for The Helix, which is definitely not above a 9, most of my contest coasters have been rated just about spot-on, maybe .2 or .3 over at the most. Granted, this may also have to do with the fact that the last contest coaster of mine that got a public rating was in spring 2004, but that's beside the point...

Or it's because the inflated ratings match your inflated ego.

I have noticed this year a significant decline in interest in this competition. I however, am in it til the end.

EDIT: I mean till i get knocked out.

alton_, i think the interest is the same. Only this year the people who really don't want to join, don't join. Last year there was no punishment for not sending in, so everybody just signed up and if they were in the mood, handed in a track. Also, gazag's screw-up might cause some of the decline.

But guys, there's a juicy $$$ reward for 1st place, and Buster or Tyler isn't even competing SO GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS AND BUILD SOMETHING

MF2001's ride is also DQ'd. There was a handrail above the water with a height of 6.16 m (20.21 ft).

I dunno but it seems like everybody's boycotting my contest or something... :(

d'oh...

I just missed that little detail. I didn't think of the handrails on the final brake.

So be it! I wish good luck to all participants, who pass.

Its a shame, i doubt there will be 16 of us. If there isnt, can you do us all a favour and knock it down to 8?

Maybe people are a little more forgiving when they're judging a track that started out with someone else's ideas, template, and rules. When the track is all yours, it's easier to implement cool ideas... when you're shackled by rules, guidelines, and such, it's MUCH harder to get a decent design going.

...just sayin'

Mine's almost done. I just need to find a way to break through the jumbled mess of track crowding up the middle and get back to the station. My supports are really gonna suck, but I'm really happy with the layout thus far. I'll be uploading tomorrow night.
