I've finally got to place some leave in for next week and seeing that this is the only free time I'll probably get the entire year I decided to complete this damn ride I've been working on for months on end. Yes????????? every month sitting for an hour tweaking something. [lol] Today I started with some supporting that's going to have to wait for a while if any comments suggest that the track work should be altered a bit. So all comments will be appreciated.

So here?????????s some preview pics for my upcoming insanely themed Sonic The Hedgehog; A looping Intamin launch coaster based on a darker side of the little blue spinning thing.

^, ^^ Thanks guys.

Theme needs to be something like Marble Zone but all the ruins and dynamic landscape is going to be quite hard to pull off, Anybody out there with 3ds max skills willing to help out a bit?

ride looks good, creative elements goin on

this would be a good theme for a ball coaster, where they could just put a backdrop in to look like a sonic level

Here are a few simulator screen shots taken last night while I was a bit indulged in Wellington VO. Also This is probably the first time you?????????ll see me posting a cover for a ride before it is actually completed but I really wanted to keep it simple ie: without scenery and supports blocking the good shots.

And here it is; the cover?????????

^^ Still thinking about it, but some of the stuff in the game and shows are a bit to childish for what I'm going for.

I also need to adjust some color settings after most of the scenery objects are created and placed. The current color is just to get a feel for the ride other than the default white.

Rings????????? most definitely in, plus I've already been thinking about the checkpoint object, too bad NL doesn't support animated objects. [:(]

But none the less, there's going to be a lot of familiar features from the games on this coaster, trust me. [;)]

Edit:
Support Update?????????

Image

Yes, I'm probably the only guy left running NL 1.55. International wire transfers is a huge f@#$en mission where I live. Going to wait it out for NL 2.

Update:

Hopefully NL2 will support animated textures...

Supporting is almost done. It really becomes a pain for me every time when getting closer towards the end of a track.

Image

This is a major problem I found when riding in the left front seat. For some reason I didn't pay well enough attention to the lateral G?????????s on this transition after using AHG. The lats went up to +2.1 around this for the left side of the train!!! I had to redo all AHGing to get it down to 1.2 at least and re add all the track support nodes in the correct places, funny how a simple fix becomes a major problem when you didn't notice it in time though?????????

Image

Some stats:

Launch end speed: 123 km/h

Max speed: 129 km/h

Max negative Gs: -0.8 sustained throughout the entire camelback.

Max Positive Gs: +5 for a brief moment only noticeable in 25% speed.

Supporting done. Well, sort of. I just need to do the launch but I have something special in mind.

Pics:

This must be the quickest I've ever been in building custom supports.

I would seriously like to know who built and exported this model of corkscrew with the construction kit because I really want to use it as a scene object. Especially since I'm going to use rocks etc????????? again, I still want to make the surrounding area look like a theme park.

Yay, I asked Oscar about CS park pack objects and he confirmed that I can use it.

This is why I really wanted to place it in; it gives the Intamin rocket a gigantic and modern look.

And now I'm busy with marble garden theme:

holy s**t!!! that looks amazing, from the first layout pics in the editor, the first thought in my head was, wow that really looks like it could be a ride for sonic. it fits that idea perfectly, then when i saw the pic of the trians, and track color, i though, wow. you need to find some way to make the ground the green and tan checkered colors like in the old games. that would kick ass. lol
this looks amazing man!!!!!
