Alrighty children, it's time to play nice. Only post in this thread if you have something POSITIVE to say about the CONTEST or a question for hyyyper. Bickering over this crap is going to solve absolutely nothing.

Can't wait for round 4.

dude some emos here... I am glad alton_ got banned, but it was funny seeing that april fools joke. I needed one all day. Also knowing how CK talks I bet that alton_ was saying a lot more immature shizz before that which was even worse. People should just chill let contest talk go on more and not lil' personal fights.

Just chill....

edit: what would locking the contest thread do?
Go chuff yourself and have a nice day! :D

Its like an episode of Laguna Beach, but much less sexy haha..

Im excited for round four though. Im hoping for a round that allows a lot of originality though, because at this point we know all (or at least most) of the contestants left have good BT. Lets get some exceptional entries! (round 4 usually produces at least one 'favorite' among the community)

It just figures, doesn't it?

I'm in only one of the two actual matchup pairs without a DQ, and I got paired with someone who tools the living crap out of his coaster (which I dreaded happening, and mentioned it many, many posts ago).

Well, at least I can hope for a wildcard. I might not be the best builder, but at least I turn in something that doesn't get DQd.

:-)

See? ^There's some inspiration for you. Shows that you can do it!

Be careful though, he might disqualify/ban you for using tools. It's not against the rules right now, but he does like to make up new ones that are *apparently* grounds for disqualification, even though the things that really are were stated clearly before. With that said, you might get banned for looking at him funny, so I say it's worth a shot.

^Lol, I'm still confused on that whole issue. But why would you want to learn to FVD right in the middle of the contest? If you don't do good with it and you don't have much time, you'd need to whip up a really fast one, and for round 4 that's (hopefully...) not acceptable because it needs to be good. Then again, if you start now, you do have a whole month.

^i already had my ride completed at the time.

it's just that i was finally inspired into FVD perfectionism because i'm too slow and too stubborn to handbuild a satisfying and technically sound B&M. or any other steel-tastic design for that matter.

Well if you're not confident that your hand building skills will stand up against the quality of the 'tooled' rides, then that's one possible solution.

^Minicoopertx can't learn it. He has a Mac, so there is no such thing as FVD for him. And although I told him I wasn't using it on page 1, I finally figured out how to do 'big' inversions with it about 3 hours into building, so I changed my mind.

That only applies to people with the new Intel-based Macs.

I've got an iMac G5. No boot camp here.

Besides, even after I upgrade to an Intel machine, I'm not going to pollute it with Windoze just for some building tool.
