Looping Waterslides in Europe

I would crap my pants.

what if some incredibly fat kid went down the slide and didn't make it around the loop

how would they possibly get the fatass out of the slide before he suffocates or even drowns?

Im pretty sure they will just hose streams of water like they do in the water-bowl slides(royal flush etc).
Im non the wiser but that thing looks fxcking sweet.

You guys have to check these out.
Look at the landing pool, a slab of concrete with half a foot of puddle dug into it .
Talk about dangerous!!
Although wouldnt stop me getting on it though!

Like the one where your just about to launch on TTD and you wake up.

No... Because the the water reduces friction. In other words the water doesn't have to go all the way around. I think...

To pollie - 10G's! The average human body blacks out at 8 g's. The most G's on a coaster is 6.3 G's on Tower of Terror at Gold Reef City.

Ah yes, Action Park. I know it well enough to have written a some 6 page article on it at my site! I remember the looping slide vividly. I never went on it, as it was never open and I was too young, but what you see in the pics is what it was. No trick to filter water out for the loop, no special engineering to get riders around, it was just a slide with a loop.

BTW, regarding the tubes that go into the swamp that english coaster guy noted; that's a ride called the Cannonball. You race another person down these winding tubes and it dumps you about 10 feet above the water. The pool is a natural ravine and is actually 30+ feet deep. It's still at the park today.

Sustained, yes, but just sitting down can be up to 35 G's, falling over can be in the 100's!

Now, even though the companies making these looping slides have much more engineering sense than whatever company built the abomination at Action Park; I still have to wonder how well it'll turn out.

As for water going around the loop; how about just removing the flow of water altogether? How about instead they just put misters to moisten a slick mat type material along the bottom of the slide. Then put some small drains at the bottom of the loop to get rid of excess water that would accumulate over time. That way you wouldn't have to worry about getting water to shoot around the loop.

i never thought about that, i thought that maybe you could use sort of water blasters to push you further round the loop, and a sort of failsafe trapdoor device just in case it fails, foolproof!
