One of the projects up for Pepsi's $50,000 "Refresh Project" is Conneaut Lake's Blue Streak, which has been SBNO since 2007. As far as I know, all of the work done on it thus far has been volunteer based, which only goes so far. It is currently ranked 16th, and if it makes the top 10 it will receiver the grant. It has jumped in the ranking quite a bit recently, as it was ranked 22 just a few days ago.

Goals

* Raise funds to proceed with restoration
* Replace timbers, realign track, restore trains
* Reopen coaster
* Support local economy by attracting more visitors to the area.

Don't do that, I'd rather see it lose legitimately than win but be disqualified.

It lost for July at #15, but it's been reentered for August and it's currently at #2. Keep voting to try to keep it there!

How much more money do they need to restore Blue Streak? Will the $50K cover the rest of the expenses, or do they need more? I know they got a good chunk of it.

I think the goal was $125,000. They've also received some volunteer work I believe from ACE and locals so that may have helped bring the cost down, but I'm not sure. I think it needs some sections completely re-engineered and rebuilt, which would probably have to be done professionally.
