...Please!!! Stop making Intamin mini-hypers! the idea was great when they first did it, and Maverick was a huge success. Then people started making NL ones, and it was still original and cool. Then it began to get ridiculous, and now they are no longer cool, no longer original, no longer fun to ride. Please move on to bigger and better things... or at least make something original! [/rant]

I think mini hypers are fun. I just think a lot of people make crappy ones...

There is a distinct line between the good Mini Hypers, and the bad ones.

I'm making one right now. Mini Hypers are a lot easier to make than larger hypers are. They simply aren't very high, don't have very long tracks, and they can be easy to support, all packing a big punch, depending on what you put into the layout.

I'm in the middle of one right now too, but yeah, there have been a lot of pretty bad ones up recently so I can see what you're saying. Still, this happens with every kind of coaster for a least a little while, nothing to worry about really.
I wouldn't say mini hypers are easier to make though, if you're going for realism there are going to be some things that are easier and some things that are harder about bigger or smaller rides. There's a style to Maverick and the two "mega-lites" that I really like and that I haven't seen in any of the rides posted up to this point. Hopefully I can get mine finished up soon. [pshades]

I hope this one will not have jerks in every hill like the coaster Kamikaze that you made.

Kamikaze didn't really have any jerks in the hills, but I can see where you are getting at with it. That was all made by hand too, so there was some disadvantages there. This one I've used the Corkscrew wizard to create some of the elements, whereas I stuck with my hand for the rest. Turned out pretty interesting.

I'm not saying yours is bad... I love it as a ride, but 2-4 of em every week? Especially since most of them are very un-original, pumpy, and really bad overall.

Well, I wouldn't consider that as a "Mini" Hyper, but more as a "Hyper" Hyper. Kinda lame in the design though, because it uses a dummy block..

I must admit the whole "Maverick" think does get old. That style isnt a mini hyper though. A mini hyper would be like Kamikazi at Tobu Zoo. But ya, the Maverick style rides are kind of getting old, but who cares, people really seem to like Maverick, so why not immitate it?

I like the mini hypers though (the true mini hypers). That Clifford sure was a great ride...

I think this point could be made, and be just as valid- ...Please!!! Stop making NL coasters! the idea was great when they first did it, and Some were a huge success. Then people started making alot, and it was still original and cool. Then it began to get ridiculous, and now they are no longer cool, no longer original, no longer fun to ride. Please move on to bigger and better things... or at least make something original! [/rant]

The point being- Tons of rides are crappy and unoriginal... I download one ride from this site every couple weeks, Whenever a ride good enough comes around. If you don't like the rides, don't waste your time on them. You don't have to download them all and then complain about them. So many rides are boring lately, but its nothing to complain about.
