Being a private DJ, I've witnessed some weird shiz! in regard with LSD and Ecstasy. I can't say that I'm entirely clean of such things but I am concerned about the next step in my hobby.

I've been trying to get residency at Truth, SA?????????s leading major Club/Rave for a while now. But to do that you need to be a producer and not just a mixer, in other words you?????????re mix should sound nothing like the tracks or time codes you used to create it. My mane concern is the style I mix in relation to Drugs. Rollergod already noticed my enthusiasm to Overdriven Trance and Hardstyle i.e. the Tunnel Records. Unfortunately in this country of mine it only attracts Stimulant and hallucinated drug heads.

Here?????????s some footage of a club only about 1 kilometer away from Truth. Originally known as Bump, I hated the place since my first visit in 2004.

This is just a small percentage of the corruption you?????????ll see in South-Africa.

Do you think you'll see less druggies in the Netherlands. [lol]

Nah seriously, it's a great place to live if you egnore high taxes and stuff. And for a dj there should be enough work here.

//: wow, that video does look pretty messed up.

Trust me there is a major difference when the stuff is actually illegal.

And whether it is legal or not, teenagers will still have the same substance abuse problems.

Well, are you serious about the emigrating thing? Because if I look at that video it is definately better dj'ing here.

I've been serious about the immigration thing since 10 years ago. So yeah, but what makes it better there? The competition is practically 7 times as much unfortunately.

Yeah, I obviously don't know that much about the scene here, and I don't now how business is in SA. But I assumed you didn't want to play in that scene anymore.
And the competition is bigger here I guess, but there are also a lot of places to play. But again, I havn't got that much knowledge about that.

As far as I know, LSD and ectasy are still illegal in the Netherlands so I'm sure you'll have the same problems if that is your concern.

Anyways, drugs and the EDM scene kind of go hand in hand. I think a good most of it is because people probably don't feel accepted unless they're on some sort of substance, and then they probably feel better about themselves while they're on it.. and maybe even after depending on how well the night went and depending on the other drugs mixed with the pill.

But really, what I think is you shouldn't worry about the drugs. Just because everyone else is fizzin or frying doesn't mean you have to. As a DJ i think your concern should be on the music, and if a couple of druggies like listening to your music so be it. But I dont think you should let other people control what you do. Maybe try and get your foot in the door at Truth and then use that note on your resume to move on to bigger and better places.

You?????????re probably right. But when getting hired for a session you should also understand exactly what type of crowd you?????????re up against, I've always wondered if any of these trippers would notice the difference if you?????????re whole set is just one single toned beat or if it's actually progressive in style.

Wow dude that looks like shiz.... Hopefully that isnt just the crappiest club they could find. If thats just any club and its important to find a good club than ya probably should me (hell you could probable go to germany and it would be better). People just look like they are all comming down or got some shizzy meth bombs in that club....

edit: Just clearing this up for myself... Is it that your conserned about the drugs or just the people who are passed out or live just to be on something?
Go chuff yourself and have a nice day! :D

^ Yea... most people could really care less what the place looks like so long as they can just party and have fun.

But yea, you have to realize that a lot of the kids that are into the scene listen to the same music outside of the club. So they probably do notice the differences in the style as it progresses and changes. I actually think the music adds to the "trip," especially in the case of MDMA, which is one of the reason why that particular style of music is so popular with the "druggy" crowd. But at the same time, the same people who are come are usually there just to party and the drugs help them get into a social care-free state of mind.

If being a DJ is really what you want to do and moving will help you get there, do it no matter what.

I don't like wet people in a water park.
