Some pre-drops are meant to give riders a little taste of what is to come, some are used to transport the ride to the lift, and some are just the designers own little touch, Xpress all you have is your opinion and nobody cares. Go back to Coaster-Sims.

Having a dip in the prelift turnaround
A:gets the train from the station to the lift faster without having tires guiding the train around the turn, and
B:is fun for many people who are not you.

B&M doesn't design rides for you and you alone. You're not the only one on this earth, and though you seem to think so, you don't know everything. Sorry kid.

No.

Predrops make absolutely no sense whatsoever. I mean, you can place a lift wherever, and have just flat track to it. I get no thrills from them. I see no advantages from them.

take a look at nitros drop out, they needed to turn around to the lift, would you rather just have a boring flat turn, no... you want a little cool turnaround drop thing, that actually is a lot of fun.

Lightning Racer had a pretty good one, and I don't know why, but I just love the one on Wild Beast at CW. It's just like a wide turn and a long straight piece of track to the lift at like a 5 degree angle, but it's just cool IMO.

You just haven't been on any good roller coasters then. Get off the computer this summer and travel a bit.

Out of the ones I've been on.. (And it hasn't been a lot, so go easy on me) I'd say California Screamin'. It's a cool little turn that leads to the launch. As for rides I haven't been on, I'll say Ghost Rider. It's eye-catching, it is.

Some coasters need a so-called "Drop Out" to give plenty of speed (And therefore more distance) without a need for expensive drive tires between the station and lift/launch/whatever. More track between station and lift means more freedom for a layout. In many cases they would prevent the Ride Operators from having to push a stalled train.

I personally like 'em.

The dropout of the station on El Diablo at Port Aventura, in the back seat that is anyway. The only decent bit of the ride. Nice li'l pop o' air.

A lot of classic coasters have that long tunneled straight and turn section before the lift.

uhm......... would the EE dropout be considered as a... drop out? because i guess it technically has 2 dropouts i guess (one little one to the small lift, another to the big lift). I like that one, then again, i love everything about EE, as you can see from my signature. haha, OBSESSED!!!

Thunderhead has a pretty cool station drop-out (downward helix into the lift).
