I feel like being a complainypants today so here goes.

Mercury Grand Marquis

My boss has one of these and it completely baffles me as to why anyone in their right mind would want to buy one. It has chronic breakdown issues (typical of all Ford's that aren't an F series pickup or van), is wide as all hell, and is in general a giant lumbering pile of failure. It has a V8 and a yet the 92' suburban we used to have and unloaded because of bad gas prices could accelerate faster than this piece of crap. How does a truck out do a car? Also, 22 MPG is PATHETIC for a car. I find it amazing how people can want one of these when their are so many better cars to buy for less money. Then again I'm probably underestimating the "old fat white republican who is completely oblivious to what is going on in the world around them" market.

I hate people who say they hate things before they even got a chance to experience them. I'm not accusing anyone here on this thread of doing that. It truly is one of my largest pet peeves.

For example, when people say they hate sushi, yet have never tried it. Sushi isn't raw fish. Some sushi rolls have raw fish, but some have cooked fish, some don't have fish at all.

I can't say I hate the Jonas Brother because they could be really nice guys, but I more than loath their "music". I didn't think guys their ages should still have voices that crack all the time. Their music isn't catchy, the lyrics are cheesy and I saw them perform on Ellen, and they are absolutely terrible. Why are they famous? If they were ugly, they wouldn't be famous at all, their music just doesn't cut it.

Tampon commercials.

And that.

The only thing that is quality about them is the marketing. For everything Sony makes, you can find something of higher quality out there for less money. You're paying for the name.

I just don't like Sony. Everything I have demoed of theirs I have found something better. Their cameras were not as good as lower priced Canons, their TVs were not as nice to me as Samsungs, their AV receivers were a joke at the time I was buying. Onkyo, Harman/Kardon, Marantz and Denon all had units out at the same price with the same features but were far better in sound quality.

Those Bose Lifestyle systems are not much better than anything you buy at Kmart. There is a hole in the midrange (if I remember right it's 200 to 260hz) because the little cubes obviously can't put out bass. The subwoofer has to go way too high making it sloppy and easy to localize. Now if this was a $200 system there wouldn't be room for complaint, but seeing as they start at $1500, it's ridiculous. You can get a far better system for $1500. Ever wonder why their displays aren't set up near other systems? They not want you to demo them against other systems. They do not post specs because their little speakers can NOT cover the full audible spectrum....As I said the cubes only go down to about 260hz. Their upper range was to 13khz if I remember correctly. Listen to the system some time, not the name. I could keep going if you want.
