Dorney Park 8/10/08 8/12/08

Well it's time for that time of year again, in just 2 weeks me and my family are going to dorney park! I cant wait to go on VooDoo! Remember my post on the "This might be a bad year for Geauga Lake"? Well I got my Wish!! Also I heard that this is the last year for Laser[:(] I really hope not! But first A week before Dorney, We will go to Adventureland in Farmingdale, Long Island. Its a total crappy little funfair type park but it's good practice for bigger rides and coasters at dorney!

Have fun. This is Laser's last year as it has sold. Dorney is my home park so I know quite a bit about it.

Aww i really wanted to ride laser. Where is it sold to?

B and M - I dont know. I dont even know if it will stay open though the end of the season. I heard that the blue prints were sent overseas so if that is any indication. But your guess is as good as mine.

My guess is that it's going back to europe to become a funfair object.

I think its going to a park in Asia. I just have this weird feeling.

Also, I have a question about Voodoo and other launched coasters. do they have some kind of warning signal that lets you know when your gonna launch or is it a launch without warning kinda thing like dominator. I dont know the awneser because I have never been on a launch coaster before. thanks!

Voodoo really isn't a bad coaster. I actually liked it a lot. I really didn't have high expectations for it, but it is decent. Make sure you ride in the front and in the back. You have to experience both!!

hopefully youll be a little luckier than me, i just got back from a coaster trip with my dad a few weeks ago and just my luck laser was closed the day i was at dorney, i was so pissed

I heard the split second stop on the back tower of these coasters adds a lot to the experience.

And I also like how they took Wicked Twister's colors. [:)]

I hate the WT colors and so does most of Dorney's GP. It's just got nothing to do with the name and feel of the ride. But I must admit, WT's colors do grab your eye when driving along I-78.

Day 1: I JUST HAD THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunatly, it all happened when i frogot to check the weather[:(]
Okay, where to start? The only roller coasters Ive been on was Talon twice. The line for that ride was GINORMOUS!! and That is not even the worst part, on my was aout to be third ride, theyclosed down the f***ing coaster. before I even got a chance to get on a third time. And soon this huge bolt of lightning scared the hell outta me and pretty soon, thunder as loud as an atomic bomb crashed. And soon enough, it began to rain.[:(!] A whole day at Dorney SHOT STRAIGHT TO HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Didnt get a chance to even LOOK at voodoo!

Yup. Thats exactly what happened today. Guess what? Its gonna happen tomorrow to. Tuesday looks good though.

Day 2: YESTERDAY WAS A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT from yesterday!
Times I went on roller coasters

Thunderhawk:3

Steel Force:1 (the line was so long, It was sooooooooo uncalled for
)
Laser:1 (I just HAD to get on that ride before its gone)

Also I got a back massage And it was FREE! My massuse was 2 back-seat rides on ThunderHawk Also guess my new favorite coaster-VooDOO!!!!

But I must admit, WT's colors do grab your eye when driving along I-78.

Thats completly true. I haven't been there this year but Driving past it does catch your eye

How are the crowds? I am going to be at Dorney on Saturday with TPR. Hopefully the crowds are low but I doubt they will be.
