Ehh, doing that would just mean adding regular nodes to replace the ones actually connected to the track. That would be very time consuming and just not worth it if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I know what you mean...

Oh, BTW, this track looks very nice, I can't wait to ride this one!

Actually by highlighting the track node you can place a free node on the exact same spot by just clicking on top of it. (From the 2d views) Then you can easily delete the track node and just connect the previous support to the free node without the need to adjust it's placement. I'm not sure if your aware of that but if you aren't it shouldn't be too hard to do.

That doesn't sound to bad.. I haven't been home in 3 days but I should be tomorrow. I'll give it a try and probably have a small update tomorrow night.

Thanx for that tip too, tt1001.
That helped me while workin on my coaster.

Also, the track looks really nice.
It's hard to do nice shuttles like that.

Thanks ianko, it is pretty hard to make an original shuttle that is realistic as well.

Anyways, I had tried out that proposed method and the results were not what I had expected. The track nodes were/are about the same distance from the actual track as the bottom of the spine is. In turn, replacing the track nodes with regular ones and re-connecting the supports gave me a very similar result as to which it already looked like. The supports still had poked through the spine, or rather the spine was sitting on the supports. Basically it looked ugly and just not technically correct. So I took a few minutes of going in and out of the simulator/re-arranging a single nod until it was just right. Unfortunately, it was way to time consuming which was not what we wanted so I jumped back to the previous saved file and we are now back to the same progress we were the other day. The way the supports currently sit don't bother me much any more, I think it is fine and should just be overlooked.

Any second opinions or should I continue/finish the support work the way the rest currently are.

What about a really small 3D?
If u give me the dimensions and a pic of the way theyre connected now I could try to make something in sketchup.

Hmm, how about I send you the track via email? You can try out a few of your own ideas and if nothing goes well than nothing lost right..

Hope it not too much polygons, they suck my frame rates down a lot.

Sure. Can't get on the computer with sketchup for a day or two so I'll pm u as soon as I get a chance to use it.

Well, this track looks sweet! I have another suggestion: you could make the spine a different shape (maybe a trapezoid or hexagon?), and then the track connector wouldn't show through. Btw, you can turn off "snap" in the tunnel maker and make your objects as small as you want. Good luck!

I didn't know you can turn off "snap", I'll give it a few tries later tonight.

That just about fixed the problem, thanks for the tip!

--update--

Station has been re-done to look nicer and more realistic.
Supports are still progressing..

--edit--

Work on the tower is moving fast, there are few supports left to add.. I was not sure how to go about the supports for it considering how far beyond vertical it is so I took an approach similar to the set-up on Euro-Fighters. I hope you guys approve of it because I am still a bit unsure. Watch the short clip below and tell me what you think.

.MOV: http://s1.video.blip.tv/0970005008320/C ... wer585.mov
Flash: http://cp-soad.blip.tv/file/1165569?fil ... wer585.flv

I believe the flash version is stretched to a 16x9 aspect ratio so the picture appears slightly distorted. For that reason, I recommend the MOV version over the Flash one..

--edit--

Supports are finished and 3d work is officially in progress.. Do you guys have any cool ideas for what to include? I've been trying to think of something good to put inside the two big turns and have what ever it is connect over the transition.

I love your track design, definitely makes it original. 3Ds look good so far. Don't overdo it though, it already looks like a superb ride.
