Well, everyone hating on it needs to experience it in the front row. The feeling of sheer speed is intense. There is nothing in front of you to break the wind, so it hits you head on. And I'm totally agreeing that you should go in expecting a fun ride. If you want intensity, go ride Maverick or Raptor.

Funny, those are the only two rides I like at CP.

Although I should add that I personally think they ended the ride too soon. They've got the money, and they can make the space. I mean seriously, the ride ends going 67 mph. They could get rid of the final overbank and make an uprising to an MCBR (because it doesn't have one yet), and have the whole current ride become half, and add a whole second half; more orientated as a "twister" section that would give massive airtime, tight turns and transitions, etc.
X2 ??? Intimidator 305 ??? Millennium Force ??? Iron Rattler ??? El Toro ??? Fury 325 ??? Maverick ??? Skyrush ??? Twisted Timbers ??? Voyage

btw I think that whole 65 mph ending is a lie...definately looked more like 45, and I was there in the middle of summer.

With that said, I really liked MF. It wasn't particularly intense as people said, but to call it forceless is ludicrous. I blacked out every time on pretty much the entire second half of the first overbank. Forces weren't the best part for me though. I definately loved the sustained speed throughout almost the whole ride. The only part I thought stalled a little was the end of the second overbank.

Front row was definately best, and despite what people say there was definately airtime, though it was as Freddie described, but not quite as good as B&M air. The restraints can be tight there which definately takes a lot away from floater air. The first drop, though, I think is one of the top 10 in the world, on the same level as El Toro's, Apollo's Chariot's, and some other excellent ones on which I haven't been. First row is decent, but back row I thought was amazing. I loved how long the drop seemed to me, from the height to the duration of airtime. Felt like it never ended to me. Definately 100x better than Intamin's other effort from that year, SROS SFNE. Yeah it's only -.4 or so air, but being sustained that long I loved it.

I think CP really nailed that ride though... it's great for most thrill seekers, but not so intense that families won't ride it. Pretty much all of us would like a ride of that size with the intensity and air of SROS SFNE or El Toro, but I'm sure Intamin and Cedar Point achieved their goal with MF.

To those who say it should be longer, consider that it's already over 6000' long, with several sections over 150 feet. $25 million is a huuuge sum of money, especially for a non-Disney park.

DC you make some very good points. I admit I was a bit harsh for going straight to disliking the ride without a second thought. High expectations can really make or break a ride.

I agree with dcs221, It may not be the most thrilling but it deffinatly has an appeal to the general public. I like the airtime and speed of other great coasters but mf is one of my favs. I'm smaller than majority so I get nocked around quit a bit on most coasters, so sometimes I like to be able to just enjoy the ride. Plus I like the tight restraints, I feel safe and I don't end up with a headache at the end.

I know that. I am just saying it would be better and please these critics that don't give it a chance.

Yeah it might be better if it were longer, without that MCBR though which I think would definately hurt it. Lines are already long though, and that'd only make them worse.

air is entirely blue, it's not that great, nemisis has no blue whatsoever, amazing ride, or sarcasm perhaps? if sarcasm, thunder looper was blue, it was awesome, you know it... ha.

He didn't think it through... he was just bumming it for the fact it's the same colours as West Bromwich Albion, his most beloved (my most hated) Football team [lol]. It's like me saying that a coaster is awesome simply because it's orange!

I hate the overhyping of the ride. I went on expecting the extreme and intense ride everyone raves about and came off thinking what people were thinking. Don't get me wrong I didn't hate the ride itself I hated what the ride was suppose to be. It's a fun ride but it's not the extreme ride everyone told me it would be.

Seems like you held the ride to unattainable expectations. While its not a over saturation of the senses, it still is a fun ride and thats why people love it. Its difficult to have a "bad" ride on it when its running the way it should be.

People complain that it has "no airtime", but I thought the air on MF felt about as strong as Goliath at SFOG. If you think MF has no air, go ride Mean Streak in the back seat; now that was a disappointment.

MF's restraints are the big problem. They hold you in wayyy too much for how comfortable that ride could be. The whole ride is designed to keep you in your seat, so why make em so tight? If it had B&M Hyper restraints, it'd be an awesome ride an make a LOT more GP happy.

No, it would actually improve the capacity. They can't let a car go until X time which in reality should be until it hits the final breaks, so the MCBR would keep up capacity IF it were longer.

The biggest reason why so many enthusiasts are disappointed in it are because they get in the train thinking "wow, this is going to be the most intense, air filled ride I have ever been on". My bet's that if you heard it sucked more than you heard how intense it is, you'd come off pretty pumped.

But yeah, I see where Freddie is coming from for sure. If rides NEED to have a crazy, forceful layout for it to be enjoyable, stay away from MF. Yes, it does have floater air, and the first drop is tied for my favorite element on any coaster with a couple of others. There are definitely forces (yeah dcs, I blacked out on the first overbank a couple times too), but I will agree that they are not nearly as exciting as the forces from Maverick or Raptor. That's not what they made MF for, enjoy climing a lift 310 ft. into the air and enjoy the relentless speed!

Early last year I rode Maverick and then MF a few minutes later and to be honest, I was bored the entire time on MF. It was like having a 93 mph fan blowing in my face for a minute or two. The drop is still incredible, but the rest of the ride seemed to drag on too long for me.

Exactly, I rode maverick before mf too and other than the drop it was nothing special.

I agree with the Maverick comment to a certain point...both times I rode MF i did Maverick right before...Maverick was way more out of control and forceful...but I rode MF in the back and the speed of MF there and the fact that for the most part the speed doesn't let up makes it a fun and enjoyable ride...not necessarily a very intense ride...but a fun one.

I bet Colossus with 10 inversions gives some wacky forces with 5 heartline rolls right after another and a loop, cobra roll, and 2 corkscrews, and I don't see that giving MF a run for its money in the polls...Because a fun ride will appeal to more people than a very intense ride...I know it's not really fair comparing a 10 looper to a non-looper...but a ride will draw alot more putting fun before intensity.

Maybe next year I'll ride MF first and see how they compare again.
