^Yer, that's a real shame that ST had to go...
I got lucky enough to ride it like 15 times on my last visit, when it was operating for the last season...
I'll miss the rough airtimelessness...

OMG!
The construction has started!
http://www.miraforever.com/index_.php?i ... ter%202009

BTW, there's some more stuff known about it:
It's going to be 50 - 55m tall
It's going to be red
It's going to have 4 inversions and a tophat
It's going to be 1000m long
It's high speed will be over 100kph (60mph)
It's going to be awesome.

There's also a deal with possible names, if I'm not mistaken...
The possible names are:
- El Cobra,
- Falco Rosso,
- Adrenaline,
- Red King
- iSpeed

Personally I don't really like any of those names to much, but, I guess i'll just have to get used to it...

Also, if you look at the last pic, in the link I posted, you can see what the layout will look like... Well, kinda...
You can see the location of the tophat, and the locations of inversions...
The first inversion kinda makes me want to believe that it's going to be a barrelroll out of the station, which would be SO cool... Inversions 2 and 3 give the impression of a pretzel loop, or maybe the flying snake dive/heartline roll combo we know from storm runner.
The last inversion will probably be a corkscrew, since They've been pretty popular with Intamin lately...

Comments, thoughts, criticism?
Well, post away!

Yeah, I just hope it won't be called that...
From the names above, I actually only like Falco Rosso...

Mirabilandia has announced its newest roller coaster for the 2009 season. It will be called "iSpeed".

The park in Ravenna will invest 15 million Euros into the project, which is aimed towards the younger crowd that like intense rides.

iSpeed will be a launched coaster built by a local company, Intamin. It will be 1000 meters long and will be located in the same area that once held Sierra Tonante.

The launch will be especially exciting and innovative for the European market. The launch will be quite intense, going from 0 to 100 km/h (approx. 62 mph) in just 2.2 seconds.

The track will reach over 50 meters tall and was designed by the well known German company, Stengel.

iSpeed will have a Formula 1 type theme.

Projected land area/form of layout:

I can think of a few people on this site who would object to the name of this ride...
