Are you worried about it or are you trying to make the best of it. I personnaly am worried about how the slumping economy will affect the amusement park industry.

Nah it will balance out soon enough. Once the elections are over we will be fine.

If it gets that bad, you'll have more important things to worry about than the amusement industry, like your college fund.

Well seeing that the financial market has lost about 40% of it's worth these past couple of weeks there should be a reason to worry. Not just for theme park visits but daily life in general. I am suprised that the youth these days don't stay on top of the news as they should. Then again the youth doesn't care much (I've done my year's worth of research on this so ha!). I could rant on how this could affect everyone but I am tired and have other things to do, such as pay attention in my Internet class that's in session now!

Not affecting me at all. I've been to more theme parks this year than any other. Crowds are low, driving has slown down, it's great for now. Gas is going down, everything's looking great for now!

Im nervous yes, hopefully it will finally get back on track in the next handful of months. My dad is in the carpet business and he is getting hit hard as hell. If that bill in California did not get passed, bankrupt we are. I am hoping that Obama gets elected though, seems like he has good morals, and after his debate against Mccain, I think that he is going to do much better. VOTE FOR OBAMA!
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

That was the first thing I thought when reading that. If the economy was/is that bad, theme parks are the last thing you should be worrying about. [lol]

Personally, I will start to worry more if I lose my job because of it. But considering I work directly for the clothing industry and with this part of the world switching more and more towards retail industry (manufacturing being done elsewhere), I should be fine for a while. Or so I hope.

Now everyone learns why sending all of our raw materials to China while they send back lead riddled poop at the local Walmart which happens to be the only store in the area because all of the mom and pop businesses got raped instead of buying the American (insert your country of origin here if you're not American) product of higher quality made in the USA that costs 10 cents more.

We complain about it sucking and yet we continue to buy it. Wake up people!

They need to get rid of the free trade agreement and bring back the good ol taxing of imports.

Also the government not only needs to buy the bad debt from the mortgage industry but they need to roll back the interest and roll back the payment the people are making to what they originally signed for.

It is stupid of the government that by simply buying up the debt will solve things. No it wont, people are in the same poop hole. They don't have the money to spend because their home payment is still a gazillion dollars a month as opposed to when they originally signed. Gov needs to buy the mortgage debt and roll back prices and interest rates. The amount owed is the same, you're just back at paying what you could originally afford.

Obama's view of being energy independent in 10 years time by investing in electric cars, wind driven energy, etc is just plain stupid. Do you know how many hundreds of thousands of people will lose their job due to that? The government is stupid, but not that stupid. The auto industry is bad enough as is. Now telling them, oh, we don't need your gas cars anymore. Not all employees are able to switch from producing gas to electric/hydrogen/etc cars. That'll put us into some serious poop!

Talking about poop, I go visit the toilet!

as far as I can tell, I won't be affected. my parents pay the taxes, hehehehehehehehehehe

that's mean. I am worried, but worries me more is that people are complaining when they're still going to be much more well-off than a whole lot of others.

really???
highly doubt that.

and yeah im pretty worried.
me and my mom havent been doing to well lately, and now that its getting worse, im getting more and more worried.
at least gas is going down, its down to 2.93 by me, thats going to help slightly.
but you know that there doing it on purpose right now to try and get f**king McSame in the damn office, then its going to shoot right back up, but enough about that.
also, being a senior in high school this year, all i here is college talk.
and i have no money saved anywhere, literally none.
so thats one of my biggest worries right now.
as much as i want all this to get better, i know it has to get worse before it gets better.

So, you are planning on living at home for forever, then? Hopefully, you can work it out, to your advantage of course, to die the same day as them -- else you might be in for a very rude awakening.

That is yet to be proven. As a 36 year old with a $207K mortgage, one 18 year old in college and a 14 year old who spends like it is going out of style ... I am waiting for the "to be more well-off" to actually kick in. At this time however, I am leaning over my desk, without lube, with my checkbook in hand like the rest of us who are actually out in the real world. Sure do wish I could go back to Mom and Dad's house. Oh wait!! There is my Dad leaning over his desk just a few states up from me. Well then, now I don't feel so bad.

Gazag -- It doesn't matter if your money is under your mattress. Without gold in the Federal Reserve to back it up (hence the unavailability of money to cover loans, etc.) you might as well turn those pieces of printed money into confetti.

THAT is the ROOT of the problem that no one seems to get!!!
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

I'm pretty damned glad my parents beat the whole "save you money" thing into me at a young age since I may have to be purchasing an automobile soon and all sorts of delights like that...

Well I had hoped that my not-so-subtle humor would have told the reader that I actually do understand at least the basics of the issue at hand.

As for what I said about complaining, I guess I could have put that a better way. I'm worried that people are so preoccupied with this issue that others might get left behind. So much is being done to help the wealthy and middle-class, but the poor are almost always left out of the picture. Social justice is much higher on my priority list than anything else in the real world. And since you're a religious person, I would hope that you would look beyond what's practical and see what really needs attention.
