I THINK part of the new Terminator is set in a "everything is destroyed" setting for a bit. A wooden ride could fit this theme.

Notice the beginning especially with the parachuter stuck on the power line tower or whatever that is.
"Careful man, there's a beverage here!"

The area has been cleared and flattened and posts are up... That's about it so far.

There's also these piles of wood the themeparkreivew.com posted pictures of:

It was announced. Video here.

Layout looks really amazing, GCI's best this year by far. Love the Kentucky Rumbler drop.

I love the layout. Hope to get over to SFMM sometime in 2009, but doubt it.

The first half looks so good! I think after the station fly through it starts to die down a bit with all the flat turns, but I think it looks freaking awesome.

This would be another GCI coaster that features a station fly-through, but this ride looks really unappealing to me. I just think this ride will be as exciting as hoped for. I also think that a wooden coaster based about Terminator is a little ridiculous. An intamin could have been more suited for the name than a GCI coasters in my opinion.

^Seeing as Renegade and Troy both have station fly bys, it won't be the second coaster.

And I think it looks way cool. The ending is very similar to Renegade. I like how the second turnaround hugs the post-lift turn, should be some cool headchoppers. It also seems a little shorter than I expected.

Rumbler has 3...

Also a bunch of CCI rides had them, but they weren't ever really hyped until GCI did it.

is it just me or is that banking really odd?
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

this looks like so much fun, so many pops of airtime but what's with the intense lack of themeing? they act like it's gonna have animatronics etc, but nothin'. ah well, it will be a good experience.

Looking very very good! GCI is kicking ass the last years. But the name sucks, unless there's going to be some heavy theming.

I am excited about this one. Have never been on a GCI before, let alone the Millennium Flyer trains.

I will not be suprised if the theming is just cars with big decals, and a big terminator the coaster sign. At least they should put in an animatronic or something.

UPDATE!!

Update with pictures and the story line:
Riders queuing up to board the new Terminator Salvation wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain this summer will get survival instructions from two of the movie?????????s stars: rapper/actor Common and model/actress Moon Bloodgood.
Image
Currently under construction, the $10-million coaster will feature an additional $1 million in theming to tie in with the ride?????????s ?????????Terminator Salvation????????? movie storyline.
Image
While waiting in the queue, riders will be encouraged via video clips featuring Common and Bloodgood to ?????????join the resistance????????? and help fight the Terminator robots.
Image
Common, who plays a soldier named Barnes in the movie, and Bloodgood, who portrays pilot Blair Williams, will explain the key points of the movie?????????s plot while laying out the ride?????????s back story.
Image
During the ?????????training session,????????? riders are warned that the ?????????machines are coming????????? and to ?????????go to the safe house????????? to await further instructions.
Image
The ?????????safe house????????? in this case will be the coaster loading station, which will be filled with movie props and memorabilia including Terminator robots. Once riders complete their training, they become ?????????resistance fighters????????? and board the roller coaster.
Image
Scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend, the Great Coasters International woodie will be built next to the D?????????j????????? Vu looping steel coaster and in the same location as Psyclone, a reviled wooden coaster mercifully removed from the Valencia amusement park in 2006.
