It's a fine name if it has nothing to pertain with Apple.

<Switching to [Change The Topic To Mac Vs. PC Debate] mode>

If they have sponsorship by Apple to name it that, I'm going to go crazy. They are already advertising whores on television, with countless Hi I'm A Mac and I'm A PC commercials. If this coaster has to do with Apple, it is going WAY too far.

Although, I'm mad at PC. For the first time in my life, after watching hundreds upon thousands upon millions (Note: exaggeration) of Mac commercials, and never once seeing a PC commercial, the people of PC decided to make a commercial. A few actually. They suck. I'm mad at them.

<Switching off mode>

Yay Intamin!

I was thinking...
Intamin hasn't made a tophat ride since 2005, I think...
And they've been pretty obsessed with the past vertical drops lately...
What if they make a past vertical tophat?
That would be so cool...

Oh, btw, I found out that the 4 inversions were still a rumour...
=/

A weird looking tophat, but a tophat nonetheless

Oh, right, i totally forgot about that one XD...
But still, the last tophat, that could possibly have a past vertical drop was made a quite long time ago...

The ride is going to be very similar to STORM RUNNER's concept:construction has started, but maybe it's still too soon to imagine the final result.
There are too many "unofficial" versions about the speed, the height and the number of inversions;this is because Mirabilandia's managers said a big NOTHING on tv ,apart from talking about Intamin and the Formula 1 theming.
I hope they understand the importance of this coaster for Italy...the park needs a great international success!

UPDATE!
http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=aQuYHf53vb4
This is actually great news!
The logo, some posters and the drawing of the coaster for the parkmap have leaked!
The logo IMO looks absolutely awesome, and so do the posters.
Don't even get me started on the layout...
It's insane how twisted and compact it looks! Should be awesome, with all those close calls. The area depicted is actually really small...
We're talking about a footprint smaller than Sierra Tonantes!
http://www.rcdb.com/m/ig766.htm?picture=18
Also, as it seems, the track will be red, the supports grey and the cars sexy black!

Comments, thoughts, opinions?

EDIT:
Here's the whole drawing of the layout, stitched together from the vid:

Thanks goes to Teus, from TPR!

Small update:

I found this on Trips'n'pics:
Ce nouveau grand huit fera 1000m de long et poss#232;dera un Top Hat de 50m, plusieurs camelback et S Turns, ainsi 3 inversions (Corkscrew, Immelmann et Heartline Roll)

It basicly says iSpeed is going to be 100om long, with a 50m tophat, which we knew before, but the new info is something about airtime hills and S-curves, which I would guess are those fast Maverick-ish transitions, and 3 inversions: an Immelman, a corkscrew and a heartline roll!
Could this get any better?
Hardly IMO...

^Yes, what he said...
+, there's a poster available:
Image

Well, this certainly clarifies quite a lot...
The launch will be a 100kph one, but it's going to be sloped or high up...
The top speed tho will be 120kph...
Also, the tophat will be 55m and not 50m tall, as thought before...

^lol, yeah!
Finally! Till now, only the USA and China got the best coasters!

Anyway, I've done some calculated, and if my calculations are correct, the launch will pull 1.4G...
That's pretty cool, right?

Also, I have absolutely no idea why they used B&M track for the poster, when you can clearly see the normal inta track in the background...

Mirabilandia has released the first promotional video for iSpeed.

The new 2009 Mirabilandia as you know has launched a construction Intamin coaster and its 55 meters high and a vertical drop of 90 will be one of the most adrenaline coaster in Europe and with a theme of impact, as is that of Formula 1 .

Mirabilandia made the official announcement!

http://www.miraforever.com/

Here's the official article...

and here's the same article translated into english:

We publish the press release issued by the park at TTG 2008 in Rimini:

Wonderland closes 2008 with satisfaction - In 2009, accelerating from Formula One with "iSpeed"

Al-TTG TTI di Rimini (24-26 October) the amusement park on the implementation of the 2008 season: visitors and budget unchanged compared to 2007. From March to October sold 550,000 overnight stays by park + hotel package - In 2009 investment of 15 million euros for iSpeed, rollercoaster with acceleration from Formula One for a full adrenaline - Opening of the 2009 season on April 9.

Same visitors in 2007 (2 million entries) and a slight increase of 1% of net sales (equal to total 52.4 million euros).

Concludes with satisfaction in 2008 for the Wonderland Park, which at the 45esima edition of TTG games and 8 edition of TTI di Rimini (24-26 October) presented the budget of the season just ended.

A difficult season in terms of tourist visas to the holiday calendar is not particularly favorable, the weather pattern altalenante June (with no less than 10 days of rain, then redeemed by the extraordinary performance in July and August) and the shadow that the economic crisis the country has drawn over the summer. Thanks also to the Reset (10 million), the new attraction opened in 2008, the park has been able to meet public expectations, while staying competitive side.

Excellent again this year for the initiative "the day after entering free and stay for the package park + hotel (which offered, starting from 44 euros, 2 consecutive days at the Park and a night at the hotel at 3 stars) that has involved about 300 hotels in the Riviera Romagna. Much as 46% of the visitors withdrew the bracelet for entry of the second day and were sold 550,000 overnight stays (+10% on 2007).

Regarding the origins of the public, in 2008 the proportion of holidaymakers in Riviera entered the park has dropped compared to last year, 5 points (from 30% to 25%), while local visitors were up one point (from 21% to 22%) and the percentage of visitors who have chosen Wonderland as the final destination is increased by 4 points (from 49% to 53%).

Now the park is already working to the great attraction of 2009: the new rollecoaster "iSpeed", which will rise to the post of Sierra Tonante, the historic wooden ottovolante the park. The attraction (for which there is an investment of 15 million euros), will be entirely focused on the speed and Formula One and "promises" a lot of adrenaline. Its cars, thanks to the launch magnet, will be "fired" with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.2 seconds (the last Ferrari California employs less than 4 seconds [the Bugatti Veyron employs 2.5]), a 55 meters in height, touching peaks of 120 km per hour. In addition to investment for the new attraction for 2009 Wonderland of 3 million euros in communication.

The 2009 season will open officially on Thursday April 9.

Looks like it opens on April 9th!
Yay!

BTW, the video looks really awesome!
Imagine those little S-hills at such a great speed! And that insane roll...
Yummy!

Uhmm, ok, I thought this site was full of rollercoaster enthusiasts...?
Seriously, doesn't anyone give a poop about what seems to be the best Intamin Accelerator coaster to date, beating Speed Monster?
And not to mention, probably the best 2009 coaster...

Yep, looks sick to me. I'd expect there'd be more interest if it was closer to most people though, and if there was more of a clear layout shown. I think that's the problem, more than the ride not being of a good quality.

^Hmm, yeah, you're probably right....
Altho, the new coaster at EP gets way more attention than iSpeed, and there's not even a name known... lol
BTW, they're supposed to start construction anytime now...

This ride looks great. I love what I think the layout is like, and I really hope I can ride this next year if my Italy trip follows through :-\

Well, there have been some construction photos posted on Miraforever.com...

http://www.miraforever.com

Well, from the pics, I can only see some footers being placed, and nothing else really...
No track to be seen anywhere...

As soon as something concrete happens with the ride, I'll put it on the front page. This has to be one of the oddest coasters to try and follow the construction of lately. They also seem to be going a tad slow. [lol]

Haha yeah, I didn't even know it existed until just now. There would be a lot more interest if it was closer to people on the site.

I don't know about best Intamin rocket ever, it's gotta be tough to beat Storm Runner's uniqueness...But it does look pretty sick, yeah. Those transition hills right after the top hat are gonna be nuts!

Today Mirabilandia released a NL simulation, showing the entire entire ride! It's a POV video!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufQxuY6T0MY

A couple of things I noticed:
-the drop of the tophat turns like 135*. I don't think any other vertical drop does that...
-The corkscrew looks like it could kill, judging by the speed at which the train travels through it...
-The immelman is more like the second half of a norwegian loop! Yay!
-do I spot a trim brake before the immelman?
-2 barrelrolls. Yay!
-It's the first ever rocket to feature a MCBR. And by the lenghth of the MCBR I would say that it's going to be running 3 car trains. Also, this will enable 3 train operation. Yay!
-The ending brake is curved, like on Stealth and KK...

So far I love the layout! Can't wait to see what the final product will be like!

There's friction wheels at the bottom of the top hat, so I don't think that trim will be actually used.

^Urgh, yes, I just saw that...
There are quite a lot of trims for an Intamin tho, don't you think?
