For the first time in 8 years, I'm truly proud to be an American again. I think it's great that Obama won, but what impressed me just as much was McCain's gracious concession speech, where he told his supporters to put their differences aside and work together to help this country.

That whole night was truly inspiring. Seeing the tremendous turnout, the enthusiasm, the formerly apathetic young vote suddenly coming alive, the dignity of McCain's vote of support, and of course the fulfillment of that great American promise that whoever you are and whatever background you come from, you can indeed become great.

I'm glad to have been a part of this historical night. I truly believe that this was one of the greatest moments in the history of American Democracy. Congratulations, President-Elect Barack Obama!

Now comes the real part, coming through on the promises. Let's seehow that holds up. I dislike both candidates but meh, whatever works. As long as Bush isn't in office is good with me. However I would have liked someone with more experience in there.

No he is not... I'm sick of hearing people say "Obama is president now". Nothing is going to change until January 20th.

Obama is officially the new president-elect. Better?

Prop 8 passed. Yay for institutionalized discrimination.
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.

Indeed cjd .... now if we could get roughly 40 million of those who got out of their homes and voted last night to actually PAY THEIR TAXES we might be able to get out of this recession we are headed for. ;-)

Right you are Oscar, and I tell you right now ... if he fails on his promises regarding the tax credits, ending the war, and changing the economy he is going to be burned at the stake ..... promptly.
