Its seems Dorney Park is taking a page from Alton Towers and providing ACE and other coaster enthusiast clubs a chance to ride the "Laser" rollercoaster one last time on the parks closing day. You must show a valid ACE or other club membership card to gain admission. You can also bring one friend. Admission costs $20.50 and includes that days entry fee. You are given ERT (Exclusive Ride Time) about 70 minutes prior to the parks opening for the day. The last day for Dorney Park is Saturday November 1st.

Too bad CoasterCrazy.com is not an "enthusiast club." Otherwise I would cancel my Six Flags trip for this.

Yes...I attended yesterday being I only live 10 minutes from Dorney and it was very nice...a very surprising turnout of probably 150 people or so....probably more...and it was nice...they ran it quickly and everyne had fun and Lou (ACE's oldest memb er at 94) was given the front seat on the first ride...Laser will be missed dearly.

I did hear from a few people that Voodoo is in need of a name change due to a recent trademark filing by Six Flags for the Voodoo name. Not sure how true it is...but does anyone know anything about if and why this is true about Voodoo getting a name change for next season???

I was there...Up by the pavilion at the main evntrance will be a 600 seat indoor ice theatre...it will host "Snoopy Rocks!" which will be an ice show. They said it was directly related to the Coaster Madness 2 years ago being like 100 degrees and most people said they would like to see a place to cool off...so it will be a Peanuts themed ice show in a new state of the art theatre. Should be fun!

Well they announced it after the park opened and other people were there and heard it...and they said they were planning to announce it within a few weeks or soon...and as the park said "not a universal announcement of a new woodie" :(....but thats ok...

And also...anybody have any idea what the new Voodoo name will be???....some of us at the event were discussing....and we just hope it won't be an original name like Flight of Fear or Flight Deck.....

I thought maybe use the Villain name from Geauga but keep the logo and you still have a logo that works for the sign and merchandise to some extent.....any other clues or ideas???

Hmm, "Not a universal announcement of a new woodie." Do I smell a new woddie soon? I hope so.

I think the new name for Voodoo should be Possession. I mean, that is the shop name after all. I however think they will call it Laser or some other generic name.

But at least an ice rink will be replacing that ugly a** tent at the entrance of the park. I am so happy that tent is going.

Yea that pavilion has been an eyesore since they added talon hydra and voodoo to the skyline...and being an ice hockey player i like the recognition. XD

As for the name...a few people at the event believed Possession would be the name as well, but I just don't see Dorney doing that for some reason...idk why maybe it is just me.

Hopefully the woodie comment means that behind steel force where the extra bathrooms are there would be a small GCI added soon which I know alot of us would love to see...and to have a GCI coaster down the street is amazing...instead of an hour away at Hershey which isn't that bad still.

Other names for Voodoo...possibly the Villain, or maybe try to schmooze Six Flags for the copyright of Shockwave since technically Cedar Fair has one at King's Dominion. I can't see them repainting it to fit any theme just one year in so I imagine they wouldn't call it Red Storm or anything that involves colors...cuz Teal Storm sounds wierd. Maybe something like Copperhead??? Any other ideas???...WE SHOULD HAVE A CONTEST!!! HAHA XD

One thing I forgot...

at the event someone mentioned naming Voodoo "The Crypt"...kinda stealing it from the King's Island ride but thats ok because Dorney could keep the logo if you think about it...

Just a thought.

I drove by the park today and the entire lift hill and drop is taken down. The loops and helices are still up but the cranes have seemed to be busy in the last 2 weeks.
