It wasn't very loud...I barely noticed it my first ride.

as long as they don't add OTSR you may be right. still, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

OTSRs are needed to keep it from ejecting fatties like gazag.

Well they better make the trains with the newer harnesses that are more comfortable. The shape of the older hyper's harnesses are a bit uncomfortable. And i hope they take off the stupid leg restraints.

This "upgrade" to SFOS is completely unwarranted. Converting X into X2 I can understand, but SFOS?

Listen, Six Flags, just because your rough 4-D Arrow coaster at Magic Mountain needed new trains and effects doesn't mean your world renown Intamin Hyper at SFNE needs the same treatment.

Some people on TPR think it's the state who wants new trains (the accident) and adding this stuff is just a way to re-market it to justify the expense. Makes sense to me.

This interview says that the name will not stay the same. Wow.

For you that have not been following along. Clawshun is a fake industry. Just Six Flags wasting their money IMO. They hired protestors; people to represent "Clawshun" and go to ACE events, and have people argue with them. They also have two websites that they blew money on. clawshunindustries.com and metropolisstockexchange.com. Also, a phone line is used.

I'm not sure why they were doing all of this, it's a poblicity stunt, that, IMO, is a waste of money. I guess it's attracting the General Public? But is it $5,000 worth? I don't know about that.

Videos of the fake protestors can be seen here:

And the fake people at the ACE convention around 7:50 can be seen starting an argument.

All this seems a bit crazy just for a ride re-theme. As far as the new colors being purple? Wonder what they plan on re-theming it as?

yea, for those of you who dont want the "upgrade", the ride needs it. Yes, its one of my favorite rides, but it is still uncomfortable. Those leg restraints suck also...
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Six Flags is not the first park to do this. Remember Hershey did this just before Fahrenheit was built.

Defender. It's opposite Medusa. It'll have purple track and lime green supports.

Medusa will become opposite superman, with blue track and red supports.

It's like a bad show on Fox before Fox News comes on and starts lying about people.

^ I love those colors.

Anyway, from Advertising Age, an article about the advertising from Six Flags.

"The world's largest theme-park operator is embracing Hollywood-style guerrilla marketing to relaunch one of its flagship rides: It's deploying a new, wide-ranging ARG, or alternative reality game.
Image
The overwhelming popularity of those viral marketing tools -- and of the global properties they hyped -- has made ARG an appealing tool even to regional attractions such as Six Flags' New England park. (In the case of "Steel," oblique website ARGs Clawshun Industries and Metropolis Stock Exchange.com already are drawing in coaster and Superman enthusiasts from around the world.)

It might be overkill, but CEO Marc Shapiro has little choice but to increase attendance if his company is to survive the downturn. In his own third-quarter conference call with analysts this week, Mr. Shapiro insisted boldly, "We're going to put value on steroids. More hours, more days, longer days, longer season, in every park than ever before. "I'm not going to get into what our specific advertising creative is going to be but ... we're going to be out early in our advertising. We're going to continue to diversify the way we market, really on all platforms and through all vehicles and using all tools, specifically on the digital platform.""
