I agree it is impressive, "a fair doodle" may have been a slight understatement [lol]. It's as impressive as Mitsubishi getting 360bhp out of a 2.0L. But I agree the idea of a wankel engine, even if it is just because it's called WANKEL, is cool.

The RX-8 is one of my favourite cars though, even if it is a bit girly looking.

I'm english, not candaian, I barely get to start work at 16, learning is 17 and driving by myself is 18, so annoying. [:(]

And even at 18 most people are still too cocky and "invincible" to drive so for my mind it probably should be more like 21. Not everyone is a chav I know, but they do exist.

no onje in my family is even cloase to a chav, I can see your point gouldy, but you can't really go around saying "you're too chavvy, you can't drive but you can" It's a bit unfair to do that, and then it's unfair on the people who are sensibl who should be allowed to drive at 18. Moral dilema there, really. Sometimes I hate england, chavs are ruining this country.

[lol] everywhere has that type of person, just that we label them as chavs whereas other countries probably have a different term for that kind of person. Also, it's not because they're chavs that they are bad drivers, some people in my college group have got modded corsa's and saxo's (Pure chav motorness) and for the most part the guys at college are really good drivers.

It is just that feeling of invincibilty that is possessed by many people (mainly males it has to be said) still at around the age of 18. I'm not saying that the second you reach 21 that line of thought disappears, but the majority of people you would think are settled down by then.

You've got to think about how dangerous it is; in just one split second you could end the lives of an entire family, if you were to be involved in a crash with car full of a family on a day out, just because you lost control on a corner where the speed limit is 30 and you were doing 50 just to show off to your mates.

I'm not saying either that my driving is not without fault, I almost always drive in excess of the speed limit by about 10mph on average, but I know myself and I know that had I been driving when I was 18, I would have been driving more like 20-30mph in excess of the speed limit. I also know when there is danger, I.E. when there is a corner that needs to be taken at a speed lower than the speed limit and I slow down to suit, but again, knowing what I was like when I was 18, I feel like I would have just carried on bombing round the corner.

I just feel that you still are not mature enough at the age of 18 to be driving alone.

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Driving 98km/h where the limit was 50.
I drive about 5-10km/h in excess of the speed limit.

none [:)]

I have been caught by a speed camera once, I was going 56mph in a 40mph limit, but I was only doing that because there was no lines on the floor at the time, because the road had just been re-laid. Knowing that in the UK they need two photos of you, with the lines, showing how far you've travelled to prosicute you, I was perfectly happy to speed past it 16mph over the limit. And I was correct, I waited the two weeks and even though the camera flashed me, I never recieved a ticket [:)]

I thought I'd been caught one time when I was on the Motorway, the limit is 70mph and I was doing 120mph [lol] I was testing to see how fast I could get my car and just as I was slowing back down I thought I saw a police car behind, I was slightly worried that time I must say! [lol]

Anyway Dirk, it is the norm to drive about 10mph above the speed limit here, almost everyone drives at about that sort of speed, it is kind of like expected. It's like the national average.

noone in my family drives 10mph over, i think that's just you there...
and i know what you mean about the thinking they are invincible, but there's been somuch propaganda these days about that stuff it kinda makes you feel less than mortal, let alone invincible, i mean they might as well say " IF YOU DRIVE A CAR YOU'RE GOING TO DIE AND KILL A SMALL CHILD ON THE WAY." which is exagerating obviously but it just seems to be scaremongering now and not safety [:(]

when I say that everyone drives at about 10mph over the limit, I'm talking in terms of averages and it's not just here, a simply search on the google gave me this quote:

"At 10 MPH over the speed limit, I rarely pass anyone. Sad, but true." ????????? Len Bardsley

so yeah, if anything it's usual to be more than 10mph over.

It is the same here as well and also in parts of the USA that I have been/lived.

If you go the speed limit you will most likely get flipped the bird or honked at. [lol]

Oh the joys of owning a car. Seeing as how it is snowing and icy out now, I figure it probably isn't too good of an idea to keep driving with these summer sport tires.

$865 later, I have new snow tires. [:(]

I tend to drive 30 mph over the freeway speed limit here. Then again, everyone does. [lol]

Chicago expressways in the morning will have people going 90-95mph to work in a 55mph zone.

I push 85 on the highways in my sedan. Then again, everyone drives 20+ the speed limit between NYC and Philly.

Route 50 near DC is notorious for speeders and very rarely will you find a cop on that highway. I've had my license for a year now, and I don't like to speed but hate going at or just under the limit like it seems everyone who's not in the left lane does. I find it amazing though that on 50, I usually go anywhere between 65 and 80, and now every time I take that road, I get up to 85 before I even realize it thinking that I'm just doing 10 over. It's crazy how the average speed has risen to 10mph over. I mean that's fine, but it's weird how it happened seemingly over night.

Nice car Canadmos! My brother just got a new Subari that I can't remember the model of, but it looks a lot like yours. And he got his in a sort of dark charcoal grey, which would look good on your 3.

I really wish I could get rid of my grandparents' old 94 Explorer. It's decent if you drive almost exclusively on the highway, but using it around town, forget about it. I still can't believe I've filled up for under $30 within the last 6 months with that thing.

that's why I like the M6 toll road, almost never see police and there's no cameras or anything. 100mph+ from one end to the other without slowing, yay! Which beats sitting in the traffic on the M6, moving at like 5mph
