everywhere has that type of person, just that we label them as chavs whereas other countries probably have a different term for that kind of person. Also, it's not because they're chavs that they are bad drivers, some people in my college group have got modded corsa's and saxo's (Pure chav motorness) and for the most part the guys at college are really good drivers.
It is just that feeling of invincibilty that is possessed by many people (mainly males it has to be said) still at around the age of 18. I'm not saying that the second you reach 21 that line of thought disappears, but the majority of people you would think are settled down by then.
You've got to think about how dangerous it is; in just one split second you could end the lives of an entire family, if you were to be involved in a crash with car full of a family on a day out, just because you lost control on a corner where the speed limit is 30 and you were doing 50 just to show off to your mates.
I'm not saying either that my driving is not without fault, I almost always drive in excess of the speed limit by about 10mph on average, but I know myself and I know that had I been driving when I was 18, I would have been driving more like 20-30mph in excess of the speed limit. I also know when there is danger, I.E. when there is a corner that needs to be taken at a speed lower than the speed limit and I slow down to suit, but again, knowing what I was like when I was 18, I feel like I would have just carried on bombing round the corner.
I just feel that you still are not mature enough at the age of 18 to be driving alone.
