You may think this topic has been done to death, yet hopefully I'll add a new lick of paint to it.

Now perhaps I'm just a neurotic who's obsessed with detail, but every inversion on every ride is different. Be it the height, the speed, the shaping, the scenery, roughness, or approach and exit, they all have their unique feel.

Therefore, out of all of the rides that we've been on, there must be a favourite particular element which one likes the most, indigenous to just one ride. In effect, this is the best of the best - your favourite precise moment on any ride.

Personally, my favourites are the Zero-G Roll at the beginning of The Incredible Hulk and, (rather surprisingly,) the Double Corkscrew at the end of Goudurix.

It may be interesting to do an equivalent spin-off that asks for one's 'favourite camel back ever' so that it brings wooden roller coasters into play.

Well, just to get this off to little start, I love the heartline roll and dive loop on Mystery Mine. That fact that your eyes are still adjusting to the daylight and that you're travelling at a fast speed at the same time adds an excitment factor to that ride.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

I love the double barrel roll/snake dive on Storm runner and X2's first drop. It cool when your looking just straight down and the it rotates you right before the pull-up.

I don't care for inversions much - most of my 'favorite' moments take place on wood coasters.

This would definitely be one of those.

Hmm, that's actually a pretty tough question...
My favourite inversions sofar must be the Barrelroll on Volare at Prater, and the cobra roll on Boomerang at prater...
The barrelroll is just awesome, and I really like, how you're in flying position, when you travel through it...
The cobra roll is great, simply becouse There are only lapbars on the trains, which give you massive amounts of freedom!

Well, I almost forgot all the inversions on Katun... They're just so perfect... Well, the 0G roll can be a little uncomfortable in the outside front or back row...

My three favorites are:

1. The Wraparound Immelman on Dueling Dragons: Fire

2. The Double Barrel Roll / Hang-and-Dive on Mystery Mine

3. The Opening double-loopscrew inversion on Rock'n'Rollercoaster

Personally I love Hydra's Jojo roll seeing as I go through it about 50 times a season...It never gets old getting thrown out of your seat 3 feet upside down at about 5 MPH to START an awesome floorless coaster.

easy, the final corkscrew on nemesis for 3 reasons.

its very well placed and you travel through it at great speed

its in the ground and you come very close to both walls

if you have never been on it befor it takes you compleatly by surprise
Making screams come true

SheiKra's Immelman, EASILY. Sitting on either edge of the train in any row, it's just the most spectacular floating, falling, upsidedown feeling I've ever felt.

After that, I love Kumba's Zero-G and Dive Loop equally.

I love corcscrews on anaconda when the mid brakes on high, you get bunches of hangtime. I also love mavi's first drop but im not sure that counts. Ialso loooooooooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvve Alpengeist's cobra roll.

Go to the video of alpi here and you will see what i mean. It isn't sped up on that part i assure you. Ive look at it from there and it does got that quick. The roll is still a bit rough on the edge seats though sometimes, but rarely. It looks compleeetly whiplashy but is not at all. Its the major positive forces through the whole top of the inversion that keeps it smooth.

Totally agree. Its taken so fast, and is so close to the walls and the ground, its just insane, easily the best inversion on the ride is really the climax of the whole thing. For those who havent seen this final corkscrew, check it out:

Doesnt quite do it justice in that photo, but does display some of the qualities that make it great.

However, it is not my favourite moment on any ride. My favourite moment was the backward launch in to the backward spike on Bullet at Flamingoland. Its such a shame that they removed that coaster. It is easily one of the most intense moments on a ride i have been on. You get a huge sudden rush of speed and force, accentuated by the fact you're going backwards suddenly, and then a massive pop of air, and a sense of huge acceleration, as the train begins to roll forwards again. Absolutely awesome:

Look how tight it is, imagine launching up that, backwards. Just awesome.

I completely agree that Alpengeist's cobra roll is one of the best inverting elements there is. My top 3 would probably be that and Robin's cobra, and maybe Raptor's 0-g roll. Alpengeist's has amazing whip, especially in the back, in 3 points on the element, plus that really fast pacing. Robins has even higher forces and is just generally balls out the whole way through, to the point where it doesn't feel like it loses speed when you're going forward through it. Add the supports everywhere and lapbars and you've got one amazingly exciting element.

I also love Raptor's 0-g for it's speed and fast rotational speed. That slight twist the opposite way before the roll adds a lot to it too. It's so disorienting, yet perfectly smooth, which is what I love about it.

There is a three way tie.

1. Mav's "Horseshoe Roll"
2. Raptor's Zero G Roll
3. Mystery Mine's "Heartline Roll-Rollover Loop combo"

I like all three of these. Love Maverick's Horseshoe Roll because of the feeling that you are flying when you enter it, love Raptor's ZGR because of the smooth weightless feeling you get, and love Mystery Mine's HLR and ROL because of the unexpectancy you have when entering them- and your eyes are still adjusting to the light.

yea, i actually really like Kraken @ Sea World's last loop right after the MCB. Really fun, and really forceful. On that note, i really like its last corkscrew because its REALLY fast, and it has some extreme snap in it. super duper uber awesomeness with a side of greatness fries.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Hulk's zero-g roll for sure! Another honorable mention is Tatsu's first wing-over thing, I don't really know what it is...If you go limp it feels amazing though!

After Hydra's roll, I also am a fan of the duel loops on Dueling Dragons when you see the other train coming at you. Anaconda's corkscrews are also pretty good IF the MCB are high...and the really high speed B&M corkscrews...like Talon's or Hydra's...Dominator...Kraken etc.
