I've been doing not much else since I started this and I've laid down quite a few different layouts, all of which sucked rectum lol

^If at first you don't succeed, try try again... if at second you don't succeed, keep moving forward... if at third you don't succeed, keep pressing on... if at fourth you don't succeed... well, you're screwed because I'm out of encouraging catch phrases.

I'm getting really curious to see what kind of layouts everyone is coming up with for these templates. That's probably my favorite part of hosting contests, is seeing everyone use the templates in ways that I had never expected.

By the way, you all better start hurrying with building those tracks! Time's fleeting! As of last night, there is now only a month left until the deadline! [:O] Gasp!

I'd like to sign up.

And can we edit the environment to make the trees bigger?

^Yes. I was actually planning on doing that myself, but then decided not to for the sake of downloading ease.

No, it's not late. There's still a long way to go. Registration for this contest isn't over until the deadline has passed. Most contests are that way, except of course the NoLimits Tournament.

Yes, it is certainly allowed. I'm a bit worried about the fact that you think that it needs it in order to be good, though.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Just a quick heads-up, everyone... I'll be leaving for New Jersey later tonight, and then for South Africa on Tuesday, so my availability over the next two days will be limited. So if you have any pressing questions about the contest, you have approximately 6 hours to ask them before I leave.

I'll be staying at a high-end hotel in Cape Town through most of the trip, though, so my internet access will be restored once I get there. Anyway, just letting everyone know.

Yeah, but most floorless coasters are stuck under 3.5 g's, have basically no airtime, and the transitions are really drawn-out. One step at a time. I will, of course, be a lot more lenient on the vertical side of the g limitations.

If it makes you feel any better, I slept in my car for every one of my park trips from 2004 to 2007. And this summer when I finally decided that I could afford tent camping, at Dollywood, just about everything went wrong. Right after I pitched it, I had to take it down and re-pitch the thing because I had accidentally parked it in a reserved campsite, I was surprised to discover that there were no showers anywhere in the campground, my cheap Wal-Mart air bed died and deflated completely every night, I couldn't cook anything because it unexpectedly rained the first night and soaked all the wood, and after all of that I only got about 5 hours at the park because my cell phone died overnight after I set the alarm clock.

So, yeah, this South Africa trip is a rarity. Most of my trips are totally ghetto.

^Sorry, but I can't reply to that, otherwise everyone would start bouncing ideas off of me to see if they were good or not. Use your expert engineering judgment! And if you have other ideas that you're holding back because of the drop, don't forget that you can submit a track on each template. So if everything doesn't fit, just make more! [:D]

(added to front page)

POINT BREAKDOWN:
Technical: 10
Adrenaline: 10
Originality/"Edge": 13
Budget: 7
Bonus Points: up to 5, if applicable. (Floating scale, like in Round 3 of the 2006 NLT)

That means that, depending on how many bonus points you get, budget is a maximum of 17.5% of your score, and a minimum of 15.5%

Nothing is more joyous in camping then waking up to quiet but heavy rain and having everything in the tent soaking wet with a high of 42 degrees that day....

UPDATE:
2 more prizes have been added, for the second-best tracks from each template, and the stakes have been doubled, (if anyone still cares about Slappin' Points, that is... [lol],) thanks to a recommendation from Tetsu and a donation from Austin.
