.... very few people rate good coasters at all. It seems like this is how CC works:

People take advantage of people, to just download and ride good quality coasters and not rate them. Example? My most recent Intamin Hyper, which has 107 downloads, but NO RATES.

Then, these same people seek out designers who, lets face it, suck, and bomb them with extensive detailed rates on all the flaws in their coasters.

People seriously need to start rating some coasters on here. I have 2 rates and less than 50 downloads on the same coaster over at CS but no rates and 100+ downloads here.

Not only that, when you post a thread in the ad board for your coaster, you get hundreds of views, but absolutely no replies -- I thought it would help to get BFC rated, but I guess.... EPIC FAIL.

edit - I just checked my coaster on CS and I have 9 downloads. 2 of which are well-rated.

You have downloaded 549, rated 15 with a 3% ratio of downloads vs. ratings.

Lead by example, Get your rating percentage to 75% or above then make the complain of others not rating. Right now you are spitting into the sky and having it fall into your face. If you like coastersims more than here than by all means go. We're not bitching about their lack of home page updates over there so there's no reason to have their followers come and complain here. It's been asked many times and people are satisfied with the way the rating system is here. We've polled them to suggest changes and we end up in square one, leave it as it is now.

While it sucks that no one rates your track, but no one here is forced to rate it. Perhaps try advertising it more or something to gain more interest.

And yeah, just to follow what Oscar said, why complain when you yourself have a very low download to rate ratio.

It's simpel, on CS they force you to rate. Or else you can't download anymore. So alot of people take the advantage here that you can download unlimited. So don't bother about it.

If you want some rates, you could create a nice hard-hat topic before you upload it just to advertise the ride a bit. And then maybe a few days after uploading a new topic in the advert section. Maybe you'd get a bigger chance than a nice rate on your ride [:)]

Note:
With a nice hard-hat topic and nice advert topic, I mean a few screenshots of the ride, that are interesting enough to make people download it. Not a topic with just a url to your ride and a message like: "Please rate!"
We Ignore those topics...

Or you can do what I do and pay people in candy to rate your track.

we love this site as it is, minimal rules to follow and easy to do so as well. so go over to coasterims and see what happens if you start a topic like this over there. you wont get burned but you will get banned

You don't need to stay here if you prefer the way CSims operates. I have never had a problem with ratings this last year, so maybe you could wait around a while, start making some good tracks (which doesn't include your Intamin Hyper, like you said) and then see how you feel about rating.

The designers that 'suck' are in more need of criticism and rates anyway [:)]
