Since applications are opening up soon, I decided I would write a little about Ride Operations at Cedar Point?????????
Processing in day before opening?????????
I was really excited! I just finished receiving all my manuals and my uniform when I was to head over to Wildcat (Ride #1). I was told to arrive at the ride several hours before opening the next day. I then went to my room????????? My room mates were cool except we live in a very small cubical.
Training?????????
They couldn't make it much easier to run the rides. Some are slow, some fast paced. Some with 10 other people some by your self. Either way anyone could run a ride. To train you fill out paperwork and begin physical training on the ride. Position by position you learn the entire ride. To operate controls on some coasters and rides you must take a visual boards test.
Hours?????????
I have worked from 8 hours to 18 hours in one day. Yes, the hours are long but the job can be rewarding and fun!
Overall?????????
I recommend it! I personally took a lot out of this job. You will get to work with some awesome people from across the globe. I now have friends all around the U.S. and some in Ecuador, United Kingdom, and many others. PLUS! You get to push the button!
