now i was on the bus on the way home and my friend was listening to a band called flight of the concords, and one of their lyrics is "groovitational pull" which i liked the sound of. I immediately got the vision of a coaster i decided to call called groovity, in which a mauhrer spinner coaster. it is a dark ride where you effectively orbit the giant disco ball, i have no track yet because i have no access to the editor but i have been messing around with ideas in my head, whaddaya think of the initial idea of orbiting the disco ball with upbeat groovy music etc with the neon lights and stuff comin from the disco ball?

CC.com users demand pictures instead of "wouldn't this be cool".

well it's kind of a watcha think moment before i get into and suddenly grind to a deafening FAIL when it turns out noone even liked the concept in the first place. i'll give you a screenshot of the (unfinished) disco ball i've been designing in sketchup:

the bits on the top and bottom are fixtures, once again, it's unfinished, still plenty more room for improvement which i intend to fill.

I think it sounds really amazing! The whole idea of orbit and gravity with disco ball and funk sounds like a fun ride to me. Just don't make it, like, repetitive or something because then the whole idea could wind up slipping through...
Oh, were you expecting something here?

You can't just introduce a concept and ask people if they like it. An idea can be good or bad, but it's not nearly enough just to have a good idea. If you have a good idea, then great. You can have one good idea and a hundred different people come out with a hundred different tracks, all different quality. The question is can you execute it well? Judging on your past uploads, I would predict no.

This is why we want pictures.

Not to be an asshole, but usually when I see someone who cares more about the scenery than the ride it ends up a poopty ride.

I'll be honest, my past rides haven't exactly been epic, but i AM inproving, i am even thinking of experimenting with newton on this one, i will get a concept track done soon if i can, any tips and tricks for newton for smoother tracks and simply getting what you want?
@CoasterkidMWM: yes, it is true that track plays a bigger part than scenery, but when you're going for a heavily themed ride, it plays a pretty damn big part! but i am planning like i said just now, on using newton to help with smoothness and realism.
