Couldn't you just develop this new system on a development server, etc ... then just push the update at midnight one night.

You are forgetting something, people from all over the world are coming here, so whenever you do it there are allways people who can't use the Exchange at some point

Matt, we don't have a developer nor funds for one. If we did, we would do just that. We have developed the rest of the site, tested a forum and member import with success. We only need to develop the exchange, which we have exhausted funds donated for the development.

why do you think oscar's been saying "we have money problems" all the time? for fun? coders cost, and any funds really need to go towards keeping the site alive, the site is in critical condition, as it were, and life support is donations :S

Sobek, I assume 70% of the visitors are the from US and the UK. Doing it in the early hours wouldn't cause much disruption.

Ah, Ok Oscar. We'll then, I'll be happy when this new exchange is up and running.

Adrenaguy : I'm a coder and I know the cost, ?????????100 a day if you want to hire me :)

Why not give your friend oscar a little discount of let's say: 99%? [lol]

We'll all be holding that "Work for Food" sign if things don't get better soon.

And by the way, the guy's awful picky for somebody who's unemployed.

Great comment TConwell.

Yea, I could easily survive, but would it really take a couple of months? Or is it because of the funds?

I'm presuming this whole topic is a ploy to get us to send more money? [lol]

As for the question at hand. If you look at how often I upload coasters, I think you'll come to the conclusion that even if the exchange was down for an entire year, I would probably do just fine! [:)]

Get all the n00bs that just use the exchange and never show their faces on the forums, to send you some money, them bastards!

I am thinking of adding download delays or like for people with 10 posts or less to have to wait an hour between downloads. That'll really drive them nuts [lol]

Ok seriously, the member post think would be nice. Like 20 posts to access the exchange and like 50 or more to remove a 15 min rule between downloads. It would be nice, and scare away alot of invisin00bs.
