So I think I figured out the trick to making a coaster like
Krct3's chicken escaped ride, except continuous. It's a crap
load of handsculpting and takes a bit of getting used to, but I
was able to make one with an immelmann and a loop.
I. create a track file and make a tiny helix. Save.
II. AHG the file and ensure that only one segment is made
(essentially, the glitch part). Save.
III. Open up the file and you should have a half helix and the
box checked for continuous.
IV. This is the hard part. I call it "reverse track
handsculpting," which is pretty confusing at first:
1. Delete all track segments except for one long one.
2. Break up the segment into two blocks.
3. Make one half the station and the other half just
regular track.
4. Break up the other half into four segments for the
lift hill: 3 for the lift and 1 for the extra track. Sculpt.
5. etc.
V: The track shift is where it gets really tricky to sculpt.
First:
1. Split the station block.
2. Move the start vertex to where your thrill lift
should be.
3. You will have a very long and ugly bit of track
linked back to the station.
4. Reverse handsculpt the track into position. Remember
to anticipate how many vertexes you will use for the elements.
5. Smooth the track in typical newbdom style, or if you
aren't a newb then find some third party program or something.
I might post a ride that demos this...of course if this is a worthy concept to consider.
EDIT: I had pics but they won't upload due to object error 'ASP 0104 : 80004005'
