Hey Guys:

I am thinking about buying a Mac, but one of the main things I do on my computer is build roller coasters in No Limits. I know that we can download NoLimits for Mac, but how about those tools. How do you go about rendering elements in HSAK, Elementary, and Purgatorium? Does this get super complicated? To the best of my knowledge, those tools are only available for PC. Before I drop 2 grand on this sweet Mac, I want to get an idea of possible troubles I will have with No Limits. Any info is appreciated!

Thanks!

I have a mac but I use bootcamp in order to use the tools and other windows programs that you can't get for a Mac. If you don't want to do that then you're out of luck. Sorry. Though to be honest it's not really too much trouble just partitioning a 5 gig drive just for NL and anything else you would want.

Im thinking about the MacBook Pro or the regular MacBook. I want to go with whatever model is best suited for NL. Any suggestions?

Definitely get the Pro. I had the old macbook and most rides ran at like 10-20 fps and I couldn't even try running rides with lots of supports/3ds. My new Macbook pro runs most tracks at 100 fps and never gets below 30. Besides, if you ever want to run the latest games or do major 3d modeling you will need the Macbook Pro.

Yeah, you're gonna want to go pro.

With regards to tools, I can use all of them fine running parallels or boot camp. If you are willing to drop a couple hundred bucks, get VMware Fusion or Parallels: they both work great. If not, boot camp works fine too: you just can't switch back and forth like you can with the other programs.

Hey, if you're still looking at macs... Is there anything wrong with your PC? Maybe you should just continue using NL there... I own a mac and I don't believe any of those add ons are available for them. (All I've been able to find is the coaster calc.) I'm not sure what your other options are other than getting a new PC, but if you ever find the tools for mac please let me know!
