Well, I signed up here for the coaster downloads, but seeing as I need 10 posts, and I haven't introduced myself here...well, here I am! It's cool you have a lot of coasters and an active forum community. Just one question: How do you install custom rollercoasters?

With regards to your question; you're gonna have to be a little bit more specific [;)]

Are we talking about RCT2? NoLimits? Scream Machines?

I can only assume you're refering to NoLimits tracks that download in the form of a .nlpack filetype? If this is true, then respond to this post and all shall be explained! [lol]

I meant for RCT3, with Soaked! and Wild! addons.

oh right. Then I can't really help you to be honest having never touched the game. But I would imagine it would be as simple as putting "track files" into your saved tracks folder and putting "park files" into your saved parks folder. I don't know what the names are for these folders in RCT3, but I imagine they'd be something along those lines?

Anyone else know any better?

here, i can help you. (gouldy, you dont even need to know how the game works to do this). make sure you put your park in a zip file, under the exchange tab, go to upload tracks, select the zip file of your park to upload, enter the info, (for category, select saved game, unless your park is a scenario, then select scenario), upload a screenshot of it if you want (recomended) and click upload!

Thanks for the tip on how to upload my park, now i'd like to know how to put a custom rollercoaster I downloaded from here into CT3. Thank you in advance!

That's the question I believe I answered [lol] Coasterpimp misunderstood your question I think. Well, I attempted to answer your question, the only problem is, I'm not certain I answered it correctly, but if RCT3 works as RCT2 does, then my answer to your question should still be correct... I think? Or something along those lines, if not, I'm sorry but I am of no use! [lol]

Yeah, there is a parks folder in your RCT3 folder in Documents. Just place any parks in there and if you download a scenario then place it in the scenario folder. It's the same with rides too obviously as they go into the coasters bit. Oh well, have fun!

Thanks for the help, it works wonderfully. But, I made a coaster in the Create Coaster tool, and it saves it as another map! I want that coaster in my park, but I can't seem to get the coaster from one map to another. Do I rebuild it in the map I want it in, or is there another way?

I can't really remember as it has been so long since I have used it but I think if you click on the coaster and look in one of the menus that pops up there should be a save track button.

I saved it, loaded it in another map, and it said the current position was too high. In the coaster designer map, the latter portion of the coaster was underground, but in my other map, it doesn't form a tunnel for me, and I can't build it. Oh, and I accidentally saved over my coaster designer map. What can I do to build my custom coaster? Build another one?

Sorry, but I think you may just have to rebuild it as RCT3 will just try to support it above the ground. You can, however, rename a park guest as John Wardley and then you will be able to build the ride as height restrictions will have been removed. This can be useful as it can be used as the template if you want to rebuild the ride. Good luck.

I never thought of that! Thank you! Also, here's a little story for you: I built a custom Gigacoaster that went as high as the height restrictions, then did some CRAZY loops and stuff, including a maximum speed of 100 mph, a very fast underground section, and it was named The Lawsuit. The nausea rating was Ultra-High, and so was the Speed, but the Excitement was Low. Or something like that. It's like that 6-mile high rollercoaster that went to the Moon (literally) and had 400 G's, but the peeps thought it wasn't exciting enough. Oh well.

Anyway, I got my custom ride up and running the way I wanted it, with a little tweaking. I could probably upload my coaster (which I named Barf Mountain) if I make it a bit shorter to the ground, and maybe I could even upload my park! It's probably a lot better when it goes underground but it did seem rather boring as it turned a lot and didn't have many high drops. The park looks pretty nice but if you really want any chance of getting high rates you REALLY need to theme it. I would have a go at making the park look good by adding plants and scenery and maybe give a couple of rides a good theme by enclosing them in a building and adding objects or something. With a little work you could easily make a really good park and gets some good rates. Oh well, good luck!

I got rid of my custom coaster entirely. With the way Alpine coasters work, it didn't work out.

Also, while I will be using themes and foliage combined with some good custom rollercoasters in parks in the future, this is my first park, and I just played it by ear and it turned out to be a kind-of tourist trap roadside attraction thing, like a county fair, except I have 1,000 peeps and the rating is as high as the rating bar will go. Maybe it's the cheap admission price...anyone can afford one dollar, and the rides are cheap too.
