Do you think the world is going to end in 2012

Ok, people are going so crazy about this whole 2012 doomsday thing these days! But the thing is, studies shown in many universites say that the world is not going to end in 2012. The most popular "prophecy" is the Mayans. But the thing is, they did not really say that the world was going to end. The mayan calender does not really end at 12/21/12. It's just the end of a cycle. So, in a screwed up way, December 21,2012 is not the end, It's the beginning! but some people are not convinced, they keep on saying stuff like "ZOMFG!! THE WORLD WILL END IN 2012!!! THE AINCENT CALENDER ENDS ON THAT DAY!!! DEATH! DESTRUCTION! CHAOS! PANDAMONIUM!!!!! AAAAAAAHAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" People even said at the end of the 90s that the book of Revelation in the bible was telling us that Year 2000 was the end of the world. (Mainly because the number "2000" was used several times in the bible)


So do you belive, or do you think it's bull?

who knows, lots of doomsday prophsies seem to center around the next few years

No, I don't believe that stuff actually. I like the mayan culture and architecture, but saying that the world is going to end just because "the calender suddenly stops."

I've said it before and I'll say it again, just because it's in a book doesn't mean it's true. Even if the book is bloody old... in fact, ESPECIALLY if the book is bloody old, what with their misguided judgment of planetary shapes and misunderstandment of even the simplest things, such as gravity.

The astronomer Philip Plait has stated very clearly that the Mayan calendar does not end in 2012 at all, that it is like the odometer on your car, as each section of the odometer reaches 9 and then clicks over to 0, the next number to it starts a new cycle, so that when all the numbers again reach 0 all the way across the odometer - the last number will change from 1 to 2 and the new cycle starts all over again

the world will not end in 2012. want me to prove it? we'll have to wait until 12/22/12 though.

If you translate what the bible say's, how about this?

The world will end? If you think about it in a godly way, how about evil will end, and God will finally have his children again, we will have been taught a revolutionary truth that will completely change us (*cough *cough, Divine Principal, Sun Myung Moon, lord of the second advent?) Then the kingdom of heaven will show itself on earth (because it is here, we just need to rub the s*it out of our eyes, and get closer to God)
