Today I was coming down off the hilly field next door, hit some sort of a hole and popped off the seat of my bike and them thumped back down. Have you ever got ejector airtime on a bike? I don't mean when the bike goes over a jump, I mean when you hit a gully, pothole, etc.

Its still floater air. Theres no way to do ejector air on an object that isnt attached to a solid range of motion.
Terminal velocity, floater.

I can get light floater when I go quickly over a steep drainage hill near my house, but ejector would basically be a bump and holding on. It's hard to get any less than zero Gs on a bike because then you would be airborn.

There's a section of interstate in my area that has a pretty nice smooth bump that provides some good floater air.

^Yeah speaking of roads, there are some crappy country roads built into the Illinois terrain here that you can get some really nice elongated floater air.

Can you show me the picture of that steep drainage hill that you get floater on? and can I see the roads in Illinois that you get elongated air on?

^Aw, pictures won't do it justice. Roads are pretty much everywhere, so why not go out and see them for yourself?

Personally, I find the best way to search for floater airtime is to go to the middle lane of the interstate and lay down.

Yeah. Up in West Virginia, there are roads that look just like airtime hills. They're fun to fly through going sixty. [:D]

I've gotten floater or very low g's when skiing before. You can easily get up to 40 or 50 miles per hour and even relatively small hills can give you a reduction in acceleration.

There's a great grassy hump near where I live that I would go over and over to get some fantastic floater air. Greatest feeling ever [:D]

No... It's even better when you're flying down a gigantic hill (Mt. Trashmore) and you get to the bottom and bust your face on the gravel... Not fun at all.

Here's the "hill"

It would be fun when you are at the bottom going really fast, to lock the back tire with the brake and do a insane skid.

No. It's nearly impossible. What you don't see in that picture is the other side which is steeper, and lined with gravel. So skidding is a bad idea. Personal experience [;)]

I got ejector air off the side of this thing today. Can't say I landed back on the bike lol. Hit the grass so hard that it burned my arm.

What is that? A BMX bike run turn? How fast were you going? What is the black thing to the far right?

http://www.pinkbike.com/video/23890/ Not my video, just one to demonstrate what it does.

It is built so that you can cary a tonne of speed through the turn to set up for the drops after it.

Midway through my riding session on it today, the dirt on the exit of it became really sloppy and the bike slid out from under me as I was getting airborne off the bump on the end of it.

Ive gotten ejector hills in my friends convertable before. I was dying laughing afterwards, we were going like 90 over this insanely steep hill. I slamed my face into the dashboard at the bottom. You really should wear your seatbelts, they can pack some great g's in there.

^^Nice. Did it seem sloppy before you even hit it?

No. I made that berm about 3 or 4 week ago so it is nice and compact now. The trouble is that when it gets really dry, the dirt start to crumble into little balls after riding it for a while. Usually after about 10 runs on it I will pack some new dirt into it, but this time I just kept going..until I fell on it.

I mountain Bike/BMX off of jumps and those turn things when I find them a lot if that counts as airtime. It's fun but just recently I screwed myself from taking a jump wrong. It hurt really bad lol

There is this ramp in the woods that people like to jump of of with their bikes, me and my friends recently "fixed" it and dug a small gap that you can't see when you're coming at it. It gives some great air-time too, and gives a real laugh when you watch someone who didn't know about it forget to pay attention and crash into the dirt. [:)]
