It's a zip file--you need to unzip it before it'll work.

Um no no no. Ive been using Elementary for quite awhile. I also use the AHG like its my job. If Newton pans out like I hope, then my dreams are realized. I just dont have the time to really spend on FVd's and the full underestanding of it escapes my grasp. I believe I could, but not with the time I have. years ago when I didnt have to work as much or go to school as much, it was a lot easier. I spent upwards of 10 hours a day analyzing how to hand build and figuring ways to do it better. Same with when the first sets of tools came out.

I just dont have the time to devote like that anymore. I havent had a true handbuilt ride in awhile...and yes, I havent released a ride in about that long. lol

Real, loads of work is still involved even if you understand the concept, tweaking, etc ... It's not as easy as people think and although I hope Newton 2 makes it easier and I don't expect everyone to pick it up and create masterpieces within days.

? I know loads of work is still involved. But, back when I used to devote 8+ hours a day to this stuff, I was bound to figure out tweaks like that rather quickly. But it was because I understood the given system.

Seeing as though I dont, thats why I dont use it. Which makes your post...I dont know, I dont get it? lol Its what I already knew.

This program works fine for me - I'm using Vista. My problem is that my NL doesn't work with my Vista; well the simulator works fine, it's the editor that only gives me a white screen.
As far as I can understand most Vista users have a fine working NL - is there anyone out there who has an idea of what there's wrong?

I could help you with your problem. Just PM me with your computer brand, age (Guess if you don't know), and specs.

Hey,
I just downloaded Newton tonight and I was wondering if I missed somthing,
Can you take pre existing sections of a NL track I'm building and open them on Newton to help me better those pre existing sections?

PLMK Cheers.

Nope. That's not the way it works at all.

If people are confused as to what newton is and does, there's some nice tutorials created by GaleRazorwind from coastersims available on YouTube, starting here.

Have I overlooked the way to put your element into the NL editor or what? I've created an element, but I just can't get it into my editor :S

Go down to the right corner where it says "save element."

Once the screen pops up, click the "get path" button.

Name what you want it to be and press save.

Set your smoothing setting (optional)

And finally press save element. The higher smoothing you have on it, the longer it will take though.
Just keep scrolling...

I'm not big on the tools since I'm stubborn and my building method seems to work pretty well for me, but kudos to you for actually putting out soemthing for everyone to use. Thanks Entropy

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Can Newton be uploaded here at CC? I'm having a bear of a time D/L it. I keep getting a runtime error and other time outs.

PM me with your email and I'll send it to you.

EDIT: Sending executables apparently a huge no-no, so I've uploaded it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LODHRZD0.
