Why do you try to use shared zone sections as much as possible? I'm opposite; I try to overlap everything possible to get the smoothest transition...you really have to get detailed with it sometimes too (and I love that you can) to get the most realistic shaping possible.

Yeah I'm really excited for the overlap zones. That feature literally makes it visual FVD, with even more added features on top of it. To be honest, if I were able to try a trial version to see this final product, I would buy a full version.

I don't know, really...I just find it easier to get the results I'm looking for much of the time. If I need multi-zones, I'll use them until I get the desired shape, then switch back to singles ASAP. I guess I can compartmentalize the track more clearly in my mind using single-zones.

I never actually got into Newton 1 for two reasons: first because of the lacking ability to have overlapping time zones, and second because I'm on WinXP, which doesn't come preloaded with the .NET 3.0 framework, and I could never really figure out how to work that. So, my question is, will this require the .NET framework like the previous version? I hope not, because this looks perfect for what I want to do with NL!

can you download .NET 3.0 framework with a Mac?

Entropy - I know you said you didn't need any more testers, but do you have anyone running on the absolute latest? I'm running Win7 and the .Net 4.0 Beta, if you want it tested on that combo.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not accepting any more testers just yet.

I'm curious, but could you explain a bit about the exporting and smoothing options in newton2?

As of Monday, June 29th, I consider n2 to be more or less complete. There still remains some additional bug testing, though, so I won't commit to a release date just yet.

The export dialog box has been entirely redone; it is quite a bit more sophisticated than before on all fronts.

^ In Newton1, I usually smooth the element in the exporter up to 100. Will the result be a bit similar in n2, or different because of the redone export dialog box?

Looking great Entropy. Thank you for creating these programs. I just downloaded Newton 1, still playing around with it. Are there any written Tutorials on that first one? I can only find GaleRazorwinds YouTube Tut.

Read the above. Entropy hasn't solidified a release date yet.

It's almost done...just a few more bugs to deal with. I'm still not comfortable with a release date yet, though.

Thanks again, Entropy! Your hard work is (and most certainly will be) appreciated. And thank you for being so forthright with us about its progress. Happy bug splatting!
