Hello all!

Its been quite sometime sense I have been on this site posting a new ride. I have been to CP this year and I have ridden "Maverick" 4 times. My new ride/recreation is one in the same.
Here have a look:
http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p5054

Some of you have seen this already but some of you have not. The track work is about 90% done. (some smoothing has to take place yet in spots)
The 3ds WILL match what is there in real life best to my abilities. 3d program I use? I use OC. (Object Creator) The texture making program is adobe photoshop 7. Work on this is slow but moving along. I have been working on this for about 3 months so far and I have alot to do yet. I think the station and transfer track will be next.

Looking good so far.
I can't say much about the track and the shaping, since i never rode Maverick.

Concerning the last picture. To match the gradient of the tunnel walls, you might want to split the track up into many small pieces and have a smooth gradient from red to black. You could either do it manually, or use the colorizer from the construction kit.

Thanks that is just what I did. I made little bitty segments and colored them one at a time. I could not get the construction kit to work on just one segment it works on the whole track but not one segment.

P.S. you have a favorite seat on the ride???
i think i like the back seat the most.
just the air you get over that first hill, and the way you get to watch the train go threw the rolls, just gorgeous!!!

Wow, looks amazing. The tunnel exit looks very spot on. So far everything looks very nice. It's a shame that the trains in NL won't do justice to this ride.
PS - I also agree that the back seat is amazing.

Thats why you cut out the peice of track you want, save it. (then save any after it) put it in its own track file, save and use the CK on it. import back in, add peices after and voila - done.

Jack, your 3ds looks great. Im very concerned with the track shaping since its hand shaped. Id like to take a look - but I know its probably already too far gone. But that track has some of the most intricate shaping I have ever seen.

Wow that's pretty awsome. Thats about as precise it can get. You even put that wiring in on the sides of the lift and the parts under the track at the brake parts.

That is looking fantastic Jack. Much better then some of the Maverick recreations I have seen before.

Also, with the Construction Kit, you just highlight the segments you want to color, then click on the Track Colorizer tool, then make the colors you want the track to fade to under the Alternate Color settings. Click on the Gradient bubble under Spine, Rails, and Crossties. Now click OK, and you should have colored segments that fade from one color, to another.

Thanks. The track is not totally done yet. I have some smoothing to do along with some small shaping issues to work out. I am doing the 3ds for the launch/lift hill as those are finished thats the only reason that I am doing them now. Yes this track has some of the most crazy track pieces I have ever seen. The track looks so simple BUT it is far from that. So many little twitches and snap turns. I look at it from all of my pics and I see something else that i need to tweak. You want to take a look at it thats fine with me. Just remember, There are spots that are not finished yet. CLOSE but just not quite there. When I send it to you I will let you know where all of my problem spots are. (I am sure you will see them anyways lol ) I am at Tireman in Maumee atm and do not have access to my track as its on my other external hard drive which is at work lol. I will send it to you tonight sometime.

Right now I am working on the lift/launch supports. So far they are matching up quite nicely.

http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/p5054 there is a few pics that are new in there of the drop supports. The flanges are not in yet. The connectors will not have any bolts to them as that would add quite abit of unnecessary polys to the mix. I want this to run really well.

Very impressive work as always Jack ... looking forward to seeing the finished product. Maverick is one I have wanted to ride for sometime now, and your 3Ds look right on target.

I am still working on it. Its coming along slowly. I am in the works at getting the supports inside the tunnel to darken up like the rest of the tunnel. The ride has been on the back burner for awhile as I have been playing GRID on xbox live quite a bit these past few months and still going at it everyday.

That ending in he tunnel has dark to light gradients from adobe photoshop 7.0 evry one of thse supports, side walls has there own gradient texture to make it look like that. same goes for the front of the tunnel. The tunnel IMO is the hardest part of this ride lol because its such a major part in the ride it has to be good on the inside as well as the outside. I am trying really hard to get the train to darken along with the tunnel so it seems like your actually going into the dark. So far its iffy if i will use it or not. The effect is really cool until you hit the turn before the exit. So I will keep trying to get it right...

Wow, I'm very impressed. So much effort into the littlest details. I hope the trackwork is pristine. I cannot wait for this excellent recreation.

Sorry it took so long to reply, I am still using the program and no its not for sale at all nor do I ever think it will be for sale. Tia has not been heard from in over a year and a half. So, I really doubt that OC2 will ever hit the virtual shelves on the interwebzerz! Sorry.

Looks very nice so far, Maverick is my favorite coaster at the moment.
A tip to help out with the realism of the ride. Check your total track length and try to match it up with the real Mavericks length of 4,450 feet.

Don't expect it any time soon [;)]

^The track is currently 4,454.33ft. I think he is still tweaking it a bit though.
