Guess what folks, support pieces have arrived at King's Dominion and they resemble the supports featured on Ispeed at Miribilandia. Does this mean KD is getting a new Intamin? It is pretty likely considering the land clearing that is going on and the fact that the park has filed plans for a "2010 coaster" with the city.

Here are the pictures of the supports and construction:

Pictures of track has been added to the page, and after viewing pictures of booster bikes, S&S tracks, and x-cars, I really don't know what to make of the new pictures [confused]

When I first saw the pictures with my friend who's an electrical engineer and loves coasters as much as I do, the first words to come out of his mouth were "there's a lot of supporting on that track so it may have to withstand some strong forces." I guess we'll just have to wait and see what kind of ride this will be [:)]

The spine of the track would suggest that it is either required to stand up to a big force, OR that it has to stand as a structure with a large distance between supports, this may be part of an element such as a none inverting loop or something where there is a large section of track where supports cannot be placed, hence the structure of the track is beefed!

I would say, on first impressions, that it's Maurer S?????????hne, X-Car. Rip Ride Rocket stlye

You guys, it's an Intamin Coaster.

The huge F-1 coaster being built in Dubai has this style track and it's an Intamin (as reported by First Drop Magazine).

It's looking good for Kings Dominion!

RCDB Link?

And it looks like an S&S coaster, cause even iSpeed didnt have crossbeams like that. My first guess would be one of those Free Flyer rides, But all those supports, double stacked beams, ment it had to be something bigger than a kiddie ride, now i have no idea. Probly another launched X-Car, that tracking looks familiar.

iSpeed is a joke by comparison. Its not going to carry even remotely the same speeds. Remember, were talking about speeds well above Kingda Ka and Dragster. Like 140+ mph. Why not design a track thats stronger?

You think? TTD was finished in April 2003. The footers for the tower were poured in April of 2002. Actually, earlier.

They actually announced the ride January 2003.

So no, they wouldnt. Why throw it all out there when you can generate buzz first? Thats a basic concept of advertising that these parks use now. They KNOW the coaster communities do this and they intentially soak it all up. They know we generate buzz elsewhere as well.

As for Ferrari World - its in Dubai. Why would we get the advertising material? At best Europe would get it, but still its WAY too early.

Im pretty sure its been confirmed Intamin is designing that ride. The ride style is EXACT with whats going in over at KD.

S&S? Theyve got nothing like that track style. That track is so heavy duty its not even funny. Cones for ties? Thats immensely strong. Not to mention the double spine. S&S is IMO one of the last to design something like that.
