My newest project is Throttle, a Vekoma motorbike pushed outside its current limits. It has a hydraulic launch straight out of the station, accelerating 6 riders from zero to 70mph in under 2.5 seconds, with a max of about 1.7 acc. G's. It then climbs a 142ft top hat, and speeds to the rest of the layout.

Pictures will be added regularly during construction on the NLDC page.

6/19 New pictures uploaded.

All trackwork is completed, but not perfected. That should be finished within the week, and supports and themeing will begin. Expect the track to be done in about a month.

Trackwork is nearing final completion. A few supports have been done.

I might go back to that after this, i was running out of ideas for the finale section, and some shaping issues were getting annoying because they werent working out right. but i'll probably return to that sometime.

Gotcha. Do you have anything after the top hat? Also, will this coaster be realistic? If so, you might want to optimize it so that there are more than 6 passengers per car, because no park would by a coaster with that low of hourly capacity.

Im making it as realistic as possible, but obviously this type of coaster has not been built to such a size yet. although the 6 cars sounds like bad capacity, it will have about 6-8 trains, so as soon as it is safe to dispatch, the next train will.

And as for whats after the top hat, im probably doing some high speed hills and turns, and one will probably traverse the launch track.

i would, but the launch is only about 10ft up, and i already supported it with cage-type supports. maybe I'll do that around the brake run...

true. i could. Idk if there will be true block brakes, just block sections to help with dispatch.

Construction:
Large overbanked (100 degrees) turn over launch complete
Speed decreased to 67mph for force purposes.
Tunnel section
Turn between tophat "towers"
Inclined Loop around overbanked turn
Noninverting immleman
"Slalom" upward turns into mcbr
Curves down from mcbr
Lowground barrel roll
Turn
*secret section*
Hill into final brakes
Final Brakes

I have decided to try to keep the ride in a somewhat small are, so it could provide big thrills without being a land guzzler.

^^ the "secret section" is only about 25ft long. Its not what the track does, but something else...

^ what's wrong with a non-inverting immleman? its a unique element and i think it would be quite thrilling on this type of coaster. its unconventional, but so is everything about this coaster!

But how exactly does it not invert? That would be horribly difficult to do without extreme lats.

Well, that is an understandable point, but is the element is executed correctly, forces are perfectly fine. This is also the 2nd highest point of the ride (besides the tophat) and thus it isnt going at high speeds at its apex.

It does not invert, because halfway up the loop, it begins to twist, so at the apex where it would be conventionally completely inverted it is at only an 80 degree tilt, and as it goes down it twist back to 0 slope.

Oh. That's kinda weird. Out of curiosity, why didn't you just stick with the norm?

you mean why not the normal immleman?

Because motorbike coasters cant really invert.

Although there is a high speed barrel roll in it, but thats more likely, as the backrest restraint would hold you in fine

whats funny?
yes its somewhat contradictory, but you definatly couldnt have an immlemman, but i think a barrel role would be fine.

I don't see why it's funny either. I think what he said made sense. I also think your logic is smart with the barrel roll...that would be really fun on a motorbike.

I know that makes sense because you explained it, but that just struck me as funny.

Look at my X-Car. I have a non inverting immelman on that.
Actually, i may be having a brainfart here, but isnt that a diveloop?

Nope, a diveloop enters in through the roll side then goes down the half loop. An immleman goes up the half loop and around. They're opposite based on direction of entry.
