Any idea what exactly they'll be doing for when they "redo" the ride with effects or whatever they'll be doing to it? I don't expect a re-profiling or anything I'm just curious.

Whoever came up with the "Do a ridiculous amount of maintenance, add a couple tunnels to everything, and then call it a new ride" was a good thinker.

Also is 5-7000 a low number for a park is that "good" on a day where it isn't busy?

Why has the ride gone so long without any real maintainence. If the support structure has changed for a while, why hasn't anyone suggested a solution until now? It's a pretty scary thought.

Ooh Goodie! A Texas Giant Topic!

But IF they knock it down, do they plan on using prefab track, or just rebuilding it and tracking on-site?

Well, it seems I do have a chance of getting there once more before TG closes, but, I'm not a fan of walking around SF in 100+ degree weather.

And I hope when they repair it they get rid of those trims so the train can go through the helix faster than 5mph.

^ I lived there for more than 5 years, go when the park opens and you'll avoid the heat. ;)

Ack. I was planning on going down there to ride TG one more time. From the sound of things though, I think I will just skip it and remember how it once was.

I do hope they fix it up or make it better because from POV's it seemed just like Mean Streak, except that it accomplished something while Mean Streak meanders around aimlessly.

Yea to me it was always Mean Streak 2.0. What MS should be. But never would be.

they should redesign it and smooth it out. It should be handled by gravity group or intatami. I wnt steeper drops and 90 degree curves and smoother too. It is too shaky now.

I love that wobble - kinda takes you right to the edge and makes you smile and be all warm and fuzzy inside.

Sure that first video wasn't just bad quality? I feel like it's hard to compare from those two, given that the second is the only decent one.

It doesn't move nearly as much before. You're just pissed that it doesn't have numbers to go with it.

I cant see any movement in the first video. Im sure its there, but I cant see it.

I love all the bosters up to the top of the turn. You can tell where all the bosters are because it look at the ties you see extra ledgers almost every 5ft. LOL

Voyage will look like that in a few years in certain spots.

comparing those 2 vids, I really don't see that much of a change. Your so far away from the track in the first vid, that it makes the second vid look like more of a wobble. I don't see much of a difference...
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

I'm sure glad I got the chance to ride this back when it was new. I'll keep those memories around for a long time.

New running rail and road deck in section 5,6,9

I like how you think everyone is supposed to know what sections are what. Can't you just say "____ turn" or "____ hill"?
