I am totally ecstatic about something I just made in nolimits. I have a secret technique for handbuilding that I discovered and it rides and looks like a newton or fvd or tool build track. This building technique plus ahg might work wonders!! Obviously for technical building like B&M this would be inferior but for any wooden coaster or even vekoma this may be really useful. I might just upload to the exchange im that excited haha

Let me guess, lotsa lotsa Calculus and vector problems? No, that would be too obvious a guess, so I say not. I am intrigued, and here I am trying to master FVD++.

^Nope no calculus just the ability to use a keyboard and a mouse and a little creativity!

It may be at least as smooth as Gaia. If you have a good eye and you ride the second car you just MIGHT see a little slight jerk of a few pixels every now and then, so still slightly less smooth than Newton.

judging by the pictures, because I currently can't dl anything it looks like this method is similar to the one I have been using, and it really does work wonders, except for inversions, but that may just just be because I naturally suck at making inversions
What are these for?

Cool, it kinda seems like you're using a really refined method of what I had been doing with my handbuilt coasters for a long time. I'm interested to see a tutorial on what you came up with.

Yeah I think we have all been sort of using the same method. My first coasters like massive chaos and demeter were made using this method and ahg, however I have not mastered it until now. The only issues im running into is transitioning between straight tracks segments and banked sections.. It takes a lot of fiddling to make that smooth. Here is my latest creation-

The real difficulty with all this is smoothing the banking, because this eliminates pumps easily, but banking takes much more time to smooth the rotation. Thats why I think even an ahg at 0 heartline would be perfect.

Create lots of segments and delete and replace each one

^:P that's actually exactly what I do, just with larger segments... Mine have never gotten this smooth though.

^no but i have mastered the art! It takes some strategy and patience..
And of coursw that is the very basic idea not the whole process but it is sort of easy anyone can do it

I used to do the same when I was handbuilding. Split until segments look like newton/fvd length. Delete one, smooth, split; one by one down the whole length of the segment. It's an effective method!

You can use the same principal with longer segments, too, by making them all the same length. :)
